The Aston Martin Vanquish was introduced in 2001 to replace the aging Virage model. The design of the Vanquish was inspired by the previous Vantage model and was intended to be a flagship grand tourer for the brand. The design of the Vanquish was created by Ian Callum, who was Aston Martin's design director at the time. Callum drew inspiration from the classic Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, a rare and highly sought-after sports car from the 1960s. Since its release, the Vanquish has seen many changes, bringing us to this example from the second generation. Aston Martin dubbed their convertible model the Volante, and the car you see here is one of them.
