By April of 1965, word on the street was that Chevrolet was planning to release a machine code-named 'panther.' The car was to battle the ford mustang, and automotive journalists were left on edge with confusing clues and riddles until finally, on the 21st of June, 1966, the Camaro was announced. When the automotive press asked Chevrolet product managers what a Camaro was, they replied, "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs." This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS is for sale in Alabama and has undergone a complete engine rebuild.
One of the most striking features of this Camaro is its "Hugger Orange" exterior paint, giving it the classic look of a vintage pony car. The vehicle has been entirely rewired and has a vinyl top giving it a two-tone look. It also features chrome bumpers and SS badges. This two-door pony car sits on a set of Mag wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires. The suspension is coil-over, and the Camaro SS features disc brakes on all four corners with the front brake hoses redone, new upper and lower ball joints, as well as posi forged axles. The interior is reportedly well maintained and looks to be in showroom condition. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS has an all-black interior, with a black dashboard, black leather seats and door panels, a well-preserved headliner, and a 4-spoke black and silver GT steering wheel.
This entirely rebuilt engine is a 496 stroker motor with a short block assembly with a high torque starter, pro comp heads, an Edelbrock carb, new spark plugs, an electric fuel pump, and a new water pump, as well as a turbo 350 stage-2 transmission.

The first generation Chevrolet Camaro was the genesis for the long line of models that followed.
