The Chevelle nameplate is highly revered in the motoring industry. But a Chevrolet Chevelle SS is even more so as it trailblazed Chevrolet's entry into the muscle car scene. The SS stands for Super Sport, and rightly so with the engine upgrade, four-barrel carburetor, and a host of other options. Our subject car is a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS tribute. This SS has undergone a complete off-frame restoration, and with just 7000 miles after the build, it will undoubtedly still feel fresh. This black Chevelle SS has been ceramic coated to preserve the newly restored exterior. It rides on a set of staggered Boyd Coddington wheels, which are 18-inch in the front with 20-inch rear wheels. This garage-kept Chevelle SS features a matching black interior. Complementing the interior is a set of Chevelle SS carpets. All badges are in place and polished to perfection. A 3-spoke Chevrolet sports steering wheel features inside.
While the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 came with the 396 big-block engines producing 325hp or 365hp, this Chevelle SS is packed with an upgraded Chevy V8 BBC 54 punched out to 468ci. The engine has been mated to a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter and a 3.73 rear end. Wilwood power disk brakes are installed at all four corners for the best possible braking power. A stainless-steel gas tank has also recently been installed.
