Belonging to the sixth generation of Corvette sports cars, the Z06 was launched as a 2006 model and is the lightest of all Corvettes in the lineup. Chevrolet introduced the 427 limited edition Z06 Corvette in 2008 as a homage to an iconic classic of the sixties—the fabled 427 Corvette. The 427 was loved and popular among enthusiasts as it refers to the cubic-inch displacement for the highest-performance engines offered in the sixties. The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 427 had a limited production of just 427 in the U.S and Canada and only a further 78 outside North America, bringing total production up to 505, which also turns out to be the horsepower figure of the car. This particular member of this extremely rare 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 427 Crystal Red Limited Edition is the 46th of all 505 vehicles. If you're in the market for a unique Corvette, then you're in luck, as this devilish car is up for sale by the original owner. With an original MSRP of $85,945, it is located in Florida and has only 15806 miles on its clock.
Like every other special edition Vette in recent years, the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 427 is a trim package with a unique color and wheels. In this case, our subject car is cloaked in Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat with 427 Hood badges garnishing the metalwork. The emblematic special stinger hood and fascia stripe are undoubtedly the most imposing features of this car. It rides on Spider design chrome wheels with P275/35ZR18 front tires and P325/30ZR/R19 rear tires. This car features carbon fiber fenders, dual-mode 4-inch exhaust tips, and body-colored door handles and spoiler to make sure it turns heads. Inside, the exclusive dark titanium leather-wrapped interior spreads an air of uniqueness to the cabin along with the Ebony/DR Titanium interior color. It also features Z06 sill plates, 427 seats with embroidered floor mats, and a unique crystal red graphic pattern center trim plate. This car also bears the honor of its interior being signed and numbered, by hand, by Wil Cooksey, the Corvette Plant Manager from 1993 to 2008. The interior is kitted out with a power driver's seat, heated seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, a Bose premium 7 speaker system, AM/FM stereo, DVD, Navigation, along with the memory package and 3LZ equipment group.
Although the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 427 was meant to honor the classic 427 cubic inch engine, the LS7 7.0L V8 under its hood translates to 427.7 cubic inches. Rounding up to 428 cu.in, Chevrolet wasn't going to let an extra cubit stop them from creating a mad machine with this special edition able to shoot from 0 to 60mph in only 3.4 seconds. With an output of a staggering 505 horsepower, this Vette screams past the quarter-mile line in just 11.7 seconds at 125 mph before hitting its top speed of 198 mph. The power is sent to the wheels via a much-preferred 6-speed manual transmission along with a rear axle ratio of 3.42. The engine is also fitted with a dry-sump oil system and an oil life monitoring system.
