Overview

Drag strips, burnouts, V8's and carburetors, the true essence of American muscle represented perfectly by the subject car: a 1972 Chevrolet Nova SS Tribute. The Nova was launched initially in 1962 with the intent of being a basic and compact family car but was later offered in various configurations such as the menacing 396 SS Tribute you see here. In this guise, it offered levels of performance that were not so basic, to say the least. This car is currently located in Texas, waiting to continue its legacy.

Exterior/Interior

This Nova's interior has been truly cared for, consisting of what looks to be showroom condition black leather seats, black dash and door panels with wooden accents, a 3-spoke stainless steel Chevy steering wheel, and silver trimmed Summit Racing oil pressure and water temp gauges. Extras include brand new factory bucket seats with sliders and frames along with a brand new digital dashboard. On the outside, the beautifully maintained Cortes Silver paint contrasts a black roof for a two-toned finish that carries on throughout the car, such as its black front grille and silver front and rear bumpers. This masterpiece sits on a set of Magnum SS wheels encased in Cooper Cobra tires. It features a brand new digital dashboard and gauges.

Engine

This 396ci Tribute is an audacious version of the Nova, boasting a 6.5L V8 engine with a 780 Demon Carb, controlled via a 4-speed manual transmission. The car also includes power steering and a power brake set-up, which consists of a new brake booster, disc brakes up front with drum brakes at the rear. Up front is a fitted sway bar and an 8.5-inch rear end—impressive for a presumably compact car.
