Overview of 1962 Ford F-100 Restomod For Sale by Owner

Nicknamed “Old-Hooker,” this 1962 Ford F-100 is far more than a vintage pickup—it’s a thoughtfully engineered restomod that blends authentic patina, handcrafted details, and proven performance upgrades into one unforgettable package. Originally from Georgia and showing approximately 63,667 miles, this truck retains its original color and weathered character while benefiting from extensive mechanical and chassis improvements. From its handcrafted flatbed constructed from reclaimed century-old lumber to its upgraded Windsor V8 and modern suspension, Old-Hooker embodies the spirit of traditional American hot rodding while remaining practical and highly usable. Included with the sale are additional induction components, performance parts, and even some vintage fishing gear that has accompanied the truck during show appearances, adding another layer of personality to this unique build.

Exterior and Interior

The exterior of this 1962 Ford F-100 Restomod embraces its history with a blue patina finish that showcases decades of character and authenticity. Custom graphics on the doors complement the truck’s rustic appearance, while the original glass remains in place as a nod to its heritage. One of the most distinctive features is the handcrafted wooden flatbed and rails, which were constructed from more than 100-year-old reclaimed lumber, creating a truly unique look. Underneath, the cab and frame have been treated with POR-15 for added durability and preservation, while the chassis has been upgraded to support the truck’s enhanced performance capabilities. The interior of this 1962 Ford F-100 Restomod continues the truck’s creative and personalized theme. A colorful collection of vintage street signs has been incorporated throughout the cabin, creating an atmosphere unlike any factory-built pickup. The floor has been treated with POR-15 and fitted with sound-deadening material to improve comfort, while a custom center console fabricated from an old oil pan houses a B&M ratchet shifter. Together with the original-style seating and custom touches throughout, the cabin offers a unique blend of nostalgia, craftsmanship, and functionality.

Engine

At the heart of this F-100 is a 351ci Windsor V8 bored .030-inch over and built with forged flat-top pistons, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, a Howards Rattler camshaft, roller rockers, and an Edelbrock Air-Gap intake manifold topped by an Edelbrock 500 CFM carburetor. Supporting components include a Canton 7-quart oil pan, oversized aluminum radiator, and dual electric cooling fans to help keep temperatures in check. Power is sent through a AOD 4-speed automatic transmission featuring upgraded internals, a shift kit, and a 3400-stall torque converter before reaching a Ford 9-inch rear end equipped with a Detroit TrueTrac differential, 3.73 gears, and 31-spline axles. Combined with a Heidts Mustang II front suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, traction bars, and a custom steel driveshaft, this drivetrain package transforms the classic F-100 into a capable and enjoyable street-driven restomod with plenty of personality.
