If you were raised during the period between the 1950s and the 1980s, life was significantly more tranquil than it is currently. With the absence of social media and ride-hailing services like Uber, a friendly face, typically that of a mailman or milkman, arriving in a Divco Delivery Van was a familiar sight that has remained etched in the memories of millions. The presence of this vehicle evokes peaceful and fond memories of one's childhood. The vehicle in question is not a fast sports car or a supercar, but rather an iconic 1964 Divco 200-B Delivery Van - a proud product of the Detroit Industrial Vehicles Company. This vehicle of American motoring history has undergone a complete overhaul to convert it’s delivery past into a new fully functioning mobile bar.
Exterior and Interior
This 1964 Divco Mobile Bar is a truly remarkable functional classic that stands out from the crowd. Its exterior boasts a unique three-tone finish, incorporating various shades of white, red, and green. The custom exterior design is further enhanced with the previous owners business logo to signify that it is a bar. Driving this iconic vehicle is guaranteed to turn heads regardless of your destination. To complete the custom yet factory styling, a set of silver hubcaps have been added. The interior of this 1964 Divco 200-D Mobile Bar is where a majority of the custom work has been executed to convert this delivery van into a Mobile Bar. Featured in the rear interior are 3 keg taps, bottle racks, metal liquor wells, slide out cooler, varnished wood grain paneling and cabinets, wood flooring, and wood countertops. The Main Cabin has remained slightly modified keeping the 60’s originality on theme with the 2 Front Swiveling Chairs, Heavy Duty Industrial metal flooring, Aftermarket Pioneer Head Unit and new speakers. Facing the driver are a group of Marshall Performance Gauges with white dials so you can keep an eye on all of your engine vitals.
Engine
As previously mentioned, customization is a significant aspect of the Divco van culture, with owners creating unique variations of their beloved childhood hero. The 1964 Divco Mobile Bar featured today is a prime example of such customization, with its impressive powertrain lurking beneath the beautiful styling. At its heart lies a monstrous 350ci V8 powertrain, capable of zipping through neighborhoods and impressing onlookers at local car meets. The motor features a 4 Barrel Edelbrock Carburetor and a new air cleaner, enabling optimal breathing in this newly swapped 350ci V8. To improve the vehicle's handling and accessibility, a Ridetech Air Suspension System with 4-Links for 1-Ton Chevy's has been installed, providing 4-wheel independent leveling. This allows the mobile bar to lower to the ground for easier customer access and to improve the ride height for better handling when transporting the booze. Power is delivered to the dual rear wheels, via a rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic transmission.
