A legend whichever way you look at it, the AC Cobra or Shelby Cobra is a car that was the result of Carroll Shelby’s engineering genius and AC Cars of Britain’s experience with diminutive open-topped sports cars. Stuffing an American V8 into a compact British roadster body created this mad machine, of which less than 1,000 original examples were made between 1962 and 1967. Today, getting your hands on an original Cobra is a difficult and rather expensive task. It’s not uncommon to find mint examples of the original being sold for high six, or even seven figure prices. Thankfully, outfits such as Factory Five Racing exist, and build fine replicas. They even endow them with some modern touches and creature comforts, such as what this 1965 Shelby Cobra by Factory Five Racing comes with. Available in Harbor Springs, Michigan, this car has just 3,000 miles to its name. Let us tell you all about it.
This 1965 Shelby Cobra by Factory Five Racing build was completed in 2013, and introduces itself with a yellow and black two-tone paint job. The car comes with the iconic dual roll bars, but there’s an added surprise in the form of a removable soft top with top and side curtains by DTS. This means that you can actually drive this car in less than perfect weather, if you’re careful. The frame has been powder coated too, for longevity. The custom interior of this 1965 Shelby Cobra by Factory Five Racing remains largely true to original, with two heated seats, a steering wheel, and a dashboard with a host of gauges. But, there’s also a center console with a JVC touchscreen radio that includes navigation, and even some controls for the ventilation system. The vents for this are in the foot wells. Looking further, we find cup holders within the bespoke console, as well as courtesy lights plus 12-volt power sockets in the footwells. Then, we’re told that the wheel wells have been undercoated for sound deadening, and there’s dynamat installed under the carpets for the same purpose.
Powering this 1965 Shelby Cobra by Factory Five Racing is a 351ci V8 that’s been blocked and stroked to 408 with Gordon Levy roller lifters. The dyno test for this car reportedly shows 400 horsepower at the rear wheels. Power is sent to them via a 5-speed Tremec manual gearbox. There’s Inglese fuel injection, Wilwood disc brakes and IRS rear suspension too. This is a Cobra that’s built to race, but can also provide you with a comfortable long-distance cruising experience.

You’d be hard pressed to find an automotive enthusiast who wouldn’t want a timeless Porsche 356 Speedster. While original cars have become prohibitively rare and expensive, the glorious concept of continuation cars means that the dream can still be attainable to many. This 1987 Vintage 356 Speedster Replica offers the look and feel of a classic roadster without the upkeep or price tag of an original. Built by Classic Motor Carriages and located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this beautifully presented replica is powered by a 1.6-liter Volkswagen engine, paired to a 4-speed manual transmission and wrapped in an eye-catching shade of metallic green.
One of the most desirable and hard-to-find classic Porsches is the 356. This was Porsche’s first road-going car, introduced in 1948 and designed by Ferry Porsche, son of Ferdinand Porsche, the original designer of the Volkswagen Beetle. As you’d probably expect, there are some shared components between the 356 and the Beetle, but their value propositions differ massively. Unlike the bug-eyed machine for cheap and cheerful family motoring, the 356 was meant to be a lightweight, nimble sports car. It was offered as a fixed-head coupe, a convertible, and a chopped-down speedster with a lower roof profile and shorter windshield for that ultimate open-air sports car experience. While getting your hands on an original 356 is hard and costly, we’ve got a nice replica here for sale today. Check out this 2007 Classic Motor Carriages Porsche 356 Speedster Replica from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The car comes to you with just over 100 miles to its name, and is an eye-catching beauty that will definitely turn heads wherever you go with it.
