The luxury English marque, Bentley Motors Limited was formed in 1919. Their heritage traces to the times when their first aluminum pistons were fitted onto World War I attack aircraft. By the 1980s the Bentley marque was beginning to decline, one of the models that revived the brand is the Bentley Continental R and the subsequent bespoke Blackpool cars. The Bentley Continental R was produced from 1991 to 2003. It features a unique body within Rolls-Royce and was without a doubt the best Bentley to date in terms of performance, and luxury. Up for grabs is a 1996 Bentley Continental R beautifully maintained and with just 50,100 miles on the odometer.
This 1996 Bentley Continental R is dressed in a mesmerizing vermilion red exterior. The exterior mirrors, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and front fascia are all painted in the same color. A few chrome trim pieces can be seen around the windows at the front, side, and rear. The horizontally slatted grille is also painted in chrome. It sits on a set of black-painted 5-spoke wheels. On entry, you are greeted by the black door sill with an engraved chrome plaque. Luxury is evident throughout the car with its use of luxury leather and genuine wood veneer. Partly matching the exterior is the interior's red and white luxury appointment. As reported by the owner the interior is all original including the matching red carpets and wood dashboard. The interior features an electronic steering wheel tilt which can be coupled with the seat and wing mirror memory positions. The center console is host to a slew of buttons and switches in black and chrome, along with the aftermarket Alpine Bluetooth capable audio system, and center console-mounted electronic gear selector with a Sport button.
There’s a reason that the 1996 Bentley Continental R was considered more of a driver's car than any previous model. That being the improved Zytek EMS3 6.75L turbocharged V8 coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission was able to have impressive, and for the first time, officially confirmed figures, of 385hp of power along with 550 lb. ft of torque. When Sport mode is activated, it simultaneously adjusts the gearbox mapping and stiffens the suspension for aggressive driving and handling. The car has self-leveling hydraulic suspension with Adaptive ride/Automatic Ride Control. Stopping power is enhanced by the ventilated disc brakes upfront and discs at the back.
British luxury automaker Bentley was acquired by Volkswagen Group in 1998. Naturally, the pressure was on, to see how the new owners would fare. In 2003, the first Bentley model released under the new management reached the market, the Continental GT. It was also the first Bentley to employ mass-manufacturing techniques, for economic reasons. However, this didn’t detract from the brand’s set standards; rather, it took them to new heights. Today, an early model Continental GT, such as this 2005 Bentley Continental GT is a sure-fire future classic, a well-built car, and something that you’ll truly cherish every drive in. What’s more alluring is, this particular car has just 21,092 miles under its belt.
Turn back the clock to the early 2000s and the automotive landscape was filled with future icons. Choosing your poison would have been a tough task as each offering served its purpose well, but what if you wanted a machine that could do it all? A grand tourer would be the perfect way to cruise into the weekend in style, be a performance machine when needed and even be eyecandy to look at. Present today is a true grand touring icon from the 2000s and it takes shape with this lovely 2005 Bentley Continental GT. With a reported 71,000 miles on the clock, this machine is the perfect all rounder and your way of experiencing grand touring in all its glory.
It seems that the majority of cars are built with sportiness in mind. They’re all about setting record lap times and immense cornering speeds. Sometimes though, it is time to take a step back and appreciate the other end of the spectrum. This 2005 Bentley Continental GT with just 48,000 miles on the odometer is not a car you set record lap times in, but perhaps a new Canon Ball record. That’s more its forte. Wafting along the interstate in complete silence is something that most other cars struggle to achieve. With the name synonymous with Bentley for several decades, Bentley has built a reputation for creating one of the best, if not the best grand tourers of all time, and the rest as they say is history.
The Bentley Continental was introduced in 2003, as the first Bentley under Volkswagen ownership of the iconic British luxury automaker. Since then, the Continental GT is one of their flagship two-door products. It’s an immensely capable driver’s car that’s also packed with the last word in luxury features and finishes. Truly embodying the Bentley spirit of redefining driving at the higher echelons, you’d be missing out on a lot if you didn’t pick up this 2013 Bentley Continental GTC from us. This gorgeous drop top bears only 25,000 miles on the clock. Let us tell you a bit more.
