When it comes to versatile military vehicles, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything more fit for purpose than the AM General Humvee. This beast of a truck has been deployed all over the world, serving as the transportation backbone of the United States military and being used by many others for frontline action. Our featured Humvee has been lovingly recommissioned with a host of modern conveniences. It features a more passenger-friendly interior than the basic troop carriers you may be familiar with. Plus, it’s also seen some sympathetic mechanical work to ensure reliability, including a new transmission and transfer case.
Exterior and Interior
There’s no mistaking this 2007 AM General M1151A1 for anything else. It retains the purposeful and chiseled looks of the Humvee and adds a menacing black Linex paint job. The truck sits on Black Rhino rims wrapped in new 40-inch tires. You’ll find custom running boards and rock sliders designed to save the underside when you’re going rock crawling, while the exterior also features grab bars. You’ll also find a stainless steel diamond-plated bed, as well as a custom rear trailer hitch with a 12-volt plug. Inside, the cabin has been customized to add a bit of practicality. There’s a head unit with wireless CarPlay and 360-degree cameras. You’ll find that the interior has been treated to sound deadening board throughout, and there are custom race-style red leather seats along with the center console. The AC has also been upgraded, and above you is a custom headliner with a Lexan moonroof. Prying eyes are kept away thanks to ceramic window tint, and this impressive Humvee restoration even comes with multiple keys.
Engine
Under the hood is the traditional 6.5-liter turbo diesel engine. It sends power to all four wheels via an all-new 4L80E transmission and transfer case. The owner also reports upgraded suspension.
