Overview of 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost For Sale by Owner

Travelling around in a Rolls-Royce signals that you’ve made it. Rolls-Royce are one of the duo of top-tier British luxury car makers, with the other one being Bentley. Bentleys are always a bit more rambunctious – relatively, while Rolls-Royces are more for cruising than bruising. The Ghost was released in 2009 as the smaller (once again, relative) sibling to the Phantom. It’s still a full-sized luxury car, though. Currently on the second generation, this 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost from the first generation belies the fact that it’s a ten-year-old car, as it’s got just 32,800 miles on it and comes with the Ghost presentation key box and window sticker included in the sale.

Exterior and Interior

Styled to mirror the Phantom, the Series 1 Ghost ran between 2009 and 2014. This sublime example of a 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost wears a Midnight Sapphire exterior paintwork, and rolls on 20-inch chromed alloy wheels. The wheel centers feature trick engineering that ensures the signature RR logo remains upright even while the wheels are rotating. The Spirit of Ecstasy mascot atop the hood is retractable to deter souvenir hunters, and if tampered with, disappears into the hood faster than you can react. A chromed visible exhaust signals that while this car is whisper quiet, it can still move like the wind, with the adaptive headlamps cutting through the darkness of a stormy night. The interior is the piece da resistance on any Rolls-Royce, and this example features a Seashell main color theme, augmented by Dark Wenge wood, extended leather with door pocket lighting, comfort entry and polished stainless steel tread plates. Of course, the place to be is in the rear seat, accessed by the rear-hinged coach doors. You’ll find the RR logo contrast embossed on all seat head rests, and picnic tables in the rear. All seats feature seat piping as well, and the front seats come with a massage function that will help keep the driver focused. A panorama sunroof allows all occupants to enjoy a bit of sky too. The gadget count is impressive too, with premium sound system, multi-zone climate control, comprehensive infotainment system, front and rear cameras, and the usual powered conveniences. Thankfully the instrument cluster is analog, and in typical Rolls-Royce fashion, features a ‘power reserve gauge’ in place of the rev counter.

Engine

To hustle like the wind in as silent fashion as a ghost, this 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost is propelled by a 6.6L BMW-derived N74B66 twin-turbo V12 that puts out 563hp and 575lb-ft to the rear wheels via a 8-speed automatic transmission. This is more than enough to move the 5,500lb vehicle at a very nifty pace indeed.
