2016 Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible
The British have contributed massively to the world of automobiles, and none more than in the luxury segment. Their much-lauded luxury vehicle manufacturer brand Bentley has been in the business for well over 100 years since 1919. While owned by the Volkswagen Group since 1998, the Bentley brand is still wholeheartedly British. In a bid to increase its presence in the global luxury vehicle market, Bentley introduced the Bentley Continental GT, a grand tourer. It holds the honor as the first Bentley vehicle to step away from hand-build manufacturing to mass production techniques. It sits on a set of 21” 7-spoke Elegant painted alloy wheels with the full-color Bentley badge in the center. Silver-painted brake calipers hide behind the wheel with the Bentley lettering on them. Beluga with leather seat trims grace the interior along with a genuine wood console inserts and dashboard inserts. The front and rear bucket seats feature a white contrast stitching and embroidered Bentley emblems on the headrests. The front seats also feature heating, along with a 14-way power function, memorized height, electric tilt, and a neck warmer. Ventilation and massage functions have been added reportedly. Entertainment is provided through the 8” touchscreen coupled to an eight-speaker sound system and on-board 15GB hard-disk drive.
The beating heart of this 2016 Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible is a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with steering wheel column mounted gearshift paddles. Power output is at 500hp and 487 lb.ft of torque. The combo makes this Continental go from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 192 mph. The Continental V8 utilizes disc brakes on all 4-wheels for efficient stopping power.
