Lucid Motors is one of the new crop of EV-only companies in the United States. Established in 2007, they would debut their first model nine year later, with the Air executive sedan. Exterior and Interior
The Lucid Air looks highly futuristic, much like something you’d expect to see in a movie set in the future. The side silhouette showcases just how slippery this car is, enabling it to cut through the air with a drag coefficient of 0.20. Engine
There’s no engine in the conventional sense. Instead, this 2022 Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance, being the top-tier trim, packs dual motors for a mind-boggling total of 1,111hp of power, and 1,025lb-ft of peak torque. This is enough for a 2.5 second sprint from rest to sixty, and top speed is electronically capped at 168mph, although Lucid’s internal testing has revealed that this spec can blast past 230mph.
