Mercedes-Benz are known for their craftmanship and luxury in their models, and the German automaker ventured into the world of modern SUVs in the form of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class in 1997, as the ML. 2015 saw the model renamed GLE, as Mercedes-Benz was refreshing their vehicle nomenclature. Keen enthusiasts will note that the ‘AMG’ now comes right after the Mercedes-Benz name, and before the model’s name, rather than right at the end where it was before. The current GLE is produced in five-door SUV, as well as five-door Coupe SUV body styles, with the Coupe SUV being lower and more streamlined. US-market GLEs are made at Mercedes-Benz’ plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This is a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 Coupe, with just 6,500 miles on the clock and comes from Arizona.

This 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 is decked out in typical AMG style, driving home the point that it is a performance model. It is regaled in a black exterior and rides on a set of 22” AMG matte-black cross-spoke wheels. Continuing the black theme, the interior is adorned in black Nappa leather and Black MB-Tex with white stitching. The interior trim is done in a black metal weave. The multi-function AMG performance steering wheel is wrapped in a combination of Nappa and incorporates racy DINAMICA micro suede side grips. The front seats are optioned out with rapid heating, heated front armrests and upper door panels, multi-contour front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage function. Dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents is included, as is a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system for immersive listening. Automated parking is also an added extra on this fully loaded SUV.

This 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 53 is packed with a powerhouse of a motor, the inhouse built M256 inline six motor displaces 3.0L (181ci), features a turbo and produces 429hp and 384 lb.ft of torque, and Mercedes-Benz’ EQ-boost mild hybrid system is able to boost output to 450hp and 568 lb ft on demand. Drive is to all four wheels via Mercedes-Benz’ 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ system. The result is a 0-60mph sprint in 5.3 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.

Formerly called the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class, the GLE represents the midsize sport utility offering from Mercedes-Benz, and has done so since 1997. Then, it was called the ML-Class and rode on a traditional, body on frame configuration. However, since 2005 and the second generation, a unibody construction was adopted, and the M-Class became more road-oriented. The GLE name came in 2015 when the third generation was facelifted, and basically alludes to the model being the SUV equivalent of an E-Class. Today, what we have is a fourth-generation example from the house of Mercedes-AMG. This 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLE53 has traveled just over 27,000 miles and comes with a twin-turbo straight six under the hood. It’s also got 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the usual Mercedes-Benz refinements to enjoy, in its quest to be your next family vehicle. If you’d like to answer its call, let us know.
