Overview of 1961 Chevrolet Corvette For Sale by Owner

Want an American classic that’s a true icon of performance, an appreciating asset and something that’s truly fun to drive? Choose this Roman Red 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible as your next (or first) classic car and enjoy all what we’ve described in our first line. With its 283ci V8 toting dual 4-barrel carburetors, this car comes with a red interior, a white drop-top and a 4-speed manual gearbox for driving pleasure. It’s got only 68,587 miles on the clock and is currently available in Conroe, Texas. Crucially, its price is still a five-figure value which is one of the myriad reasons why you should grab this car while you can – first-generation or C1 Corvettes in great condition will venture into six-figure territory soon.

Exterior and Interior

See how Chevy’s C1 Corvette is so visually removed from later iterations! This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a case in point, with its Roman Red paint coat punctuated by some nice white accents along the sides. The car’s curvy and swoopy proportions give way to dual headlamps and dual taillamps as well, some things that were seen on later Corvette generations too. Ditto the boat-tail inspired styling which was updated for the C2 as well, before later generations went more muscular and chiseled. This car also features a dual exhaust system, factory wheel covers and whitewall tires. It’s got a white convertible top that’s pretty easy to raise and lower. The red interior of this 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible awaits a driver and passenger. It’s got two low-back seats in red leather, that iconic twin-cowled dashboard design that continued into the C2 as well, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel and even an AM radio in the center console. The car’s gauge cluster is most interesting as well, featuring a large semicircular speedometer flanking a smaller rev counter, with auxiliary gauges on either side. And when we get to the trunk, it’s pretty spacious and accessed via an external trunk lid.

Engine

This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has a 283ci V8 under the hood. The unit uses dual 4-barrel carburetors to make around 270hp. Power goes to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car also has an aluminum intake system.
