The first generation Mustang sold like the proverbial hot cakes, with three body styles and over two million examples produced. Well over two million in fact. Today, there’s no shortage of great ‘Stangs out there, and we’ve seen plenty come our way. That’s why this 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop is worthy of consideration, because it’s a little different from the rest. Packing an engine from a Fox Body, this machine has received a comprehensive makeover and some neat upgrades too. Now it’s up for sale in Las Vegas, and you could be its next owner!
Exterior and Interior
This 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop was reportedly repainted in Crème with a bright blue racing stripe to inject some of that sportiness into this sprightly pony. The car looks absolutely awesome as a result, with its unibody steel chassis ensuring great structural rigidity while its billet front assembly kit, aftermarket wheels and overall clean outlook all come together to make this a pony that will turn heads. It’s also got twin tailpipes at the rear which allow the V8 under the hood to be clearly heard when the time comes. The interior of this 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop has reportedly been reupholstered and awaits up to four adults to share good times within. We’re told that the car packs power windows, power locks, Dakota Digital gauges and an aftermarket audio player, all neatly fitted within the original dashboard to preserve originality as far as possible. There’s also a hidden kill switch for some added safety and security. Meanwhile, the trunk area has been refurbished as well which isn’t something you always see with restorations – the trunk tends to be overlooked or kept for last. Clearly, that hasn’t happened here, and the space is as clean and neat as you’d expect.
Engine
There’s a 302ci V8 under the hood of this 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop, that’s reportedly from a 1989 Mustang – the Fox Body era. The engine is fuel injected and paired with an aftermarket 5-speed manual transmission. As expected, rear-wheel drive is the order of the day. We’re also told that the car has got power steering and power brakes, plsu an aftermarket wiring harness.
