One of Chevy’s main pillars of the Sixties and Seventies, the Chevelle dominated the midsize segment with ease. It was one of the Bowtie’s most successful models during its 1963 to 1977 production run, and came in many body forms. Of course, petrolheads flocked towards the SS or Super Sport variant which brought many cosmetic as well as performance upgrades to the car. Now, we’ve got a finely restored 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS for grabs in Visalia, California. Sporting a black exterior and a black interior, this machine rocks a fearsome 427ci V8 under the hood, a set of black Ridler alloy wheels, and more. Also included in the sale is a Vintage Air heating and air conditioning system that’s currently not installed.
Exterior and Interior
Over the years, the muscular and brawny outlook of cars like this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS has never been diluted. If anything, this car looks even more head-turning in its sleek black suit, capped at either end by chrome bumpers and carried upon by black alloy wheels with a silver lip. It’s got dual headlamps, a vented hood, red brake calipers for the upgraded and drilled disc brakes, and of course, the necessary badging, not forgetting the iconic SS front grille emblem. The black interior of this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS contains seating for four, upholstered in black leather with red contrast stitching. Obscured from the outside by tinted windows, the interior remains mostly stock, with some aftermarket additions such as extra gauges, a column-mounted tachometer, and a retro-styled modern radio, hooked up to modern speakers. Pop the trunk and there’s a matching spare wheel and tire in situ.
Engine
The powerplant of this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a 427ci V8. The naturally aspirated unit features several upgrades such as an Edelbrock intake, black Chevrolet cam covers and more. Power goes to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission. The brakes have also been upgraded to larger units with drilled discs to match the sheer power under the hood.
