Overview of 1983 Blakely Bernardi For Sale by Owner

If obscure and unique is your cup of tea, then the Blakely Bernardi is definitely up your alley. A brief history of this car reveals that it was produced by Blakely Auto Works from the USA in the Eighties. This company was primarily a kit car manufacturer, with some turnkey manufacturing activities as well. The inspiration for the Blakely Bernardi was the Lotus Seven. The Bernardi was produced in kit car configuration and turnkey as well. Up for sale is a 1983 Blakely Bernardi with just 35,592 miles on the clock and available to be seen in the Prairie State, Illinois.

Exterior and Interior

Straight off the bat, this 1983 Blakely Bernardi is guaranteed to pique anyone's interest. The car's design is reminiscent of the neo-classical 1950s British MG TD. Finished off in a tantalizing red color, the car exudes elegance with the fenders of the car having space from the body with the headlights perched on stalks between the fender and the hood. The grill of the Bernardi makes an impressive statement with its chrome horizontal design. The hood of the car hosts the Blakely hood ornament. The front and rear fenders and done in chrome and polished to a mirror shine. The exterior of the Bernardi hosts many chrome bits and pieces that have been meticulously polished. A rack on the trunk in chrome is located on the back. The car sits on a set of 8-spoke polished Rota alloy wheels. The interior is bedecked in tan leather with white stitching and wood inlays on the center console. The steering wheel is a simple but elegant 3-spoke classical affair in wood and metal with the Blakely logo superimposed in the middle. The center console hosts a cluster of gauges along with a Fultron AM/FM cassette player. In front of the passenger on the dash is a Fultron equalizer as well. The removable hardtop is also available and done in the body color. A stand for the hardtop is also given with the car.

Engine

While the kit car option of the Blakely Bernardi was offered various engine configurations from a 1.6L Ford in-line four, all the way up to Ford small-block V8s. This 1983 Blakely Bernardi is powered by a 2.0L carbureted Ford engine that was common on the turnkey models. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Reportedly, the brakes and tires are in good condition.
