The classic Land Rover Defender is directly descended from 1948’s Land Rover Series I. After World War II, the Rover Company of Britain wanted to create a tough off-road vehicle for agricultural use. Things started as the Series I, then Series II, Series III, and finally the Defender by the early 1990s. Across the world, Defenders are renowned for their tough persona and go-anywhere capabilities. This 1997 Land Rover Defender 110 is no different. What’s more, the vehicle is fresh from a restoration that was completed in February 2025. It also has a new engine that is less than 1,000 miles on it. Basically, this is a born-again vehicle that’s better than when it left the factory in 1997 and is up for grabs with us. If you wish to own it, give us a call or shoot us a DM pronto.

The green paint worn by this 1997 Land Rover Defender 110 was completed in February 2025, along with the restoration of the vehicle. Then, you’ve got new gloss black wheels and new tires for this vehicle to roll on smoothly. Checking the spec sheet, we also discover a new Defender roof rack with lights, new fog lamps, a front bumper grille guard, and an aftermarket hood vent. Furthermore, since this Defender is a 110 variant, it’s great for family use thanks to its four-door body style and capacious cargo space. Now, let’s venture aboard. The interior of this 1997 Land Rover Defender 110 features black leather seating. There are two rows in the main cabin for up to five adults, plus a set of facing benches in the cargo area. You’ll also be grateful to see the steering wheel on the left-hand side since some UK-import Defenders tend to be right-hand drive. The seats in this vehicle are new, as are the carpeting, headliner, and electronic gauges. You’ll also see a wood-grain steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth capabilities.

Land Rover introduced the Series I off-roader was introduced in 1948, as Rover knew that, like Jeep over in the USA, with World War II finished, they needed to switch priorities and serve the civilian market. The Land Rover Series I holds the designation of being the world’s first mass-produced four-wheel drive vehicle with doors and solid roof. Over time, the Series I became the Series II then Series III, before gaining the Defender name in late 1990, in keeping with Land Rover’s new naming convention. The Defender came in 90,110 and 130 forms, which roughly referred to its wheelbase. Here, we have a 1997 Land Rover Defender 110 County Edition which is a five-door station wagon variant. You can see by its right-hand drive layout that it’s likely a UK import. With only over 16,000 miles to its name, the vehicle currently resides in Houston, Texas, but is basically at home anywhere in the country – especially where there are no tarmac roads. After all, it’s meant to go off-roading and overlanding!
