Mercedes-Benz's answer for the blooming grand touring car segment was in the form of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. The SL-Class has been in production since 1954, and 2022 saw Mercedes-Benz rename the class to Mercedes-AMG SL. With seven generations of SL-Class, Mercedes-Benz has made a name for itself in the grand touring world. The first SL-Class was built for the Grand Prix and Mercedes-Benz had no intention of making a road version of the car until an American convinced the Germans to make one for the North American market. The fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was produced from 1989 to 2002. Up for grabs is a 2000 Mercedes-Benz SL500 with just 69,075 miles on the clock and available to be seen in the Lone Star State, Texas.
This 2000 Mercedes-Benz SL500 has a certain presence to it no matter the locale. This SL500 is draped in Brilliant Silver Metallic paint. While the car may look heavy, and slow, it is anything but. The front is dominated by a massive hood that leads to the grille which is accented by the Mercedes-Benz 3-pointed star. Body-color door handles and side moldings blend perfectly with the car. At a glance does not look like a convertible until the top is taken down by the push of a button. It sits on a set of 17” 5-spoke silver aluminum alloy wheels. The interior features an Ash color with the headliner board replaced with the matching factory two years ago as reported by the seller. The seller also reports that the convertible top and rear three windows were replaced five years ago. All 12 hydraulic rams for the convertible have been replaced, along with two trunk struts, lower control arm, convertible motion sensor switch, rooftop latch, antenna, and motor unit.
A grand tourer is usually distinguished by its engine offerings and Mercedes-Benz did not disappoint when they offered the 2000 Mercedes-Benz SL500 with the 5.0L V8 and mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Power output is at 302hp along with 339 lb-ft of torque. Fully independent suspension with the Mercedes-Benz Electronic Stability Program provides a smooth ride. The grip is provided by a set of Sumitomo HTR z3 rubbers with impressive stopping power from the all-wheel disc brakes.

The famous French designer Paul Bracq deserves a round of applause from all European auto lovers around the globe. He is the creative mind behind Mercedes-Benz's most glamorous and desirable models. Among them, the Pagoda is a cherished example built between 1967 and 1971. The one Pagoda nickname stems from the design of the hardtop roof, which is similar to the roofs of traditional Asian pagodas. It was also called the Mercedes-Benz W 113 and made history as the first sports car with a "safety body." What we have here is a 1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL showing just 47,700 miles on its clock. Its owner claims that they are the second owner of this car, and it is mostly original. It currently resides in California and is awaiting its next lucky owner.
With many modern SUVs choosing to have curvy styling with car-like driving characteristics, there are only a handful of them that stay true to their roots and maintain their rugged nature. This 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, with just 10,000 miles on the odometer, could just be the sweet spot. Mud-plugging capabilities on the outside with limo luxury on the inside, all with a tinge of supercar performance for good measure. It has come a long way since it started life way back in 1979 as a pure farm truck with cloth seats. Now, it is ready to take on the world.
Owning a classic Mercedes-Benz from the Sixties is a special thing. This is the era when Mercedes-Benz was truly gaining a reputation that was several steps above the rest. It wasn’t just luxury that they were playing on, but sheer build quality and sturdiness. Let’s take this 1969 Mercedes-Benz 250 Sedan as an example. This car comes from the W114 generation. Competing in the executive car segment, the W114 was made between 1968 and 1976. And as time passed by, the W114 became quite the collector’s item. Just cast your eyes upon this fine 43,142-mile example, with all maintenance reportedly up to date, and it’s hard to not want to own this car. Well, it’s up for sale with us right now.
