Ford’s T-Bird or Thunderbird model may not be in production anymore, but it’s a compelling classic and desirable model for a special reason; it kickstarted the category known as the ‘personal luxury car’. Produced from 1954 to 1997 across ten generations, Ford decided to capitalize on the retro-modern bandwagon with the eleventh generation in 2002 that was produced for just three short years. If a T-Bird is your thing, we present this 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible from Colorado with just 21,800 miles on the clock. The seller reports that it’s been annually serviced by a Ford dealership, and it comes with a Thunderbird car cover as well as a rack for the top. In case you didn’t know, this generation of T-Bird was also featured on the silver screen, driven by Halle Berry in the James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’.

This generation was styled by Jack Telnack and incorporated a modernization of the classic Thunderbird styling cues. The styling has been praised for elegance and beauty, which this 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible proudly shows off in its Thunderbird Blue paintjob that is very Sixties! This car sports a power retractable convertible top, and the original color-matched removable hardtop sporting the iconic ‘porthole’ on each side is included in the sale. It’s seven-spoke 17-inch cast aluminum shiny wheels are wrapped in Michelin tires, reportedly installed last summer. Dual exhausts with bright tips complete the look. The interior features a black and blue color scheme that matches the exterior blue. A retro-style white-faced gauge cluster faces the driver. The car also has a power tilt and telescoping steering column, auto headlamps with variable display, an AM/FM stereo with 6-CD changer, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and anti-theft alarm are part of the gadget count.

The eleventh generation T-Bird is built on the Ford DEW98 platform that also underpinned the Lincoln LS, Jaguar S-Type and Jaguar XF, as Ford owned Jaguar at the time. This 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible is powered by Jaguar’s 3.9L AJ30 V8 that puts out 252hp and 267lb-ft to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS and variable assistance power steering are present as well. This example is also reported to have received a brand new battery.

The Ford Thunderbird was made between 1955 and 1997 across ten generations, and redefined the Personal Luxury Car for Americans. In fact, it created the segment, largely inspired by the Grand Tourers of Europe. So, in the 2000s, Ford was feeling a little misty eyed and decided to create a rose-tinted eleventh generation homage to this iconic nameplate. Enter the retro-modern Thunderbird that was made between 2002 and 2005. Styled by Jack Telnack, the car sat on the Ford DEW98 platform, used an engine from Jaguar (who Ford owned at the time), and marked a return to roots of sorts, in that it was a two-seater, just like the first generation. Over 68,000 examples were made, and we have one for sale. Say hello to this original owner, all-stock 2002 Ford Thunderbird from South Jordan, Utah, that’s got just 13,085 miles on the clock.

The 1956 Ford Thunderbird represents one of the most iconic American personal luxury cars of the 1950s, melding graceful styling with V8 power in a two-seat roadster format. This example presents beautifully in red with a matching red interior, exuding 1950s glamour and Americana. Under the hood, it retains its factory-correct 292ci V8 with the signature Thunderbird script valve covers and a Holley “Teapot” 4-barrel carburetor, delivering a smooth, refined driving experience through a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. This car is a rolling tribute to an era when design and simplicity defined American excellence.

Ford’s contribution to American motoring history in the luxury segment, the Thunderbird came in 1955 and created the Personal Luxury Car segment. The idea was to replicate what was called the Grand Tourer in Europe. After all, the United States was gaining some fine interstates, crisscrossing the land and connecting East and West. There was stunning scenery, interesting culture and culinary delights to be explored. All the well-heeled needed was a suitable car to connect them all with. That’s where the Personal Luxury Car came in. The Thunderbird ran from 1955 to 1997 across ten generations, then a homage eleventh generation was made between 2002 and 2005. Today’s 1989 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe is from the tenth generation and resides in Delray Beach, Florida. It’s got just 10,500 miles on its wheels, and a supercharged engine under its hood! The famous Ford F-Series was born in 1948, as America was emerging into a post-war world of promise and prosperity. Now in the fourteenth generation, the F-Series has got to be the world’s longest-running truck series, if not one of the longest. Today, the F-150 is the most popular variant as the half-tonner, but if we look at the first generation, the range simply started with the F-1 as the half-ton variant. That’s what we have here, a 1950 Ford F-1 Restomod from Groveport, Ohio. It’s received a thorough makeover with a 350ci V8 under the hood, an automatic gearbox, a converted 12-volt electrical system and more. If you want to own a classic Ford truck that you can actually enjoy driving, this 78,000-mile machine is your best option.

If you want a classic pony car that’s plentiful, easy to maintain and cuts a fine dash wherever you take it, choose a first-generation Ford Mustang. Produced between 1964 and 1973, a couple of million were made, basically. Three body styles were available, and did you know that the famous fastback was officially called the SportsRoof? Yes, that’s what we have for sale today, a rather unique 1969 Ford Mustang Restomod for sale from Royse City, Texas. It’s got a 5.2-liter Coyote Aluminator V8 under the hood, hooked up to a five-speed Tremec box and a Currie rear end. Yes, this pony has received a significant shot in the arm, or several. With just 155 miles since its makeover, it’s now ready for a new owner.
