Ford’s T-Bird or Thunderbird model may not be in production anymore, but it’s a compelling classic and desirable model for a special reason; it kickstarted the category known as the ‘personal luxury car’. Produced from 1954 to 1997 across ten generations, Ford decided to capitalize on the retro-modern bandwagon with the eleventh generation in 2002 that was produced for just three short years. If a T-Bird is your thing, we present this 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible from Colorado with just 21,800 miles on the clock. The seller reports that it’s been annually serviced by a Ford dealership, and it comes with a Thunderbird car cover as well as a rack for the top. In case you didn’t know, this generation of T-Bird was also featured on the silver screen, driven by Halle Berry in the James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’.
This generation was styled by Jack Telnack and incorporated a modernization of the classic Thunderbird styling cues. The styling has been praised for elegance and beauty, which this 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible proudly shows off in its Thunderbird Blue paintjob that is very Sixties! This car sports a power retractable convertible top, and the original color-matched removable hardtop sporting the iconic ‘porthole’ on each side is included in the sale. It’s seven-spoke 17-inch cast aluminum shiny wheels are wrapped in Michelin tires, reportedly installed last summer. Dual exhausts with bright tips complete the look. The interior features a black and blue color scheme that matches the exterior blue. A retro-style white-faced gauge cluster faces the driver. The car also has a power tilt and telescoping steering column, auto headlamps with variable display, an AM/FM stereo with 6-CD changer, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and anti-theft alarm are part of the gadget count.
The eleventh generation T-Bird is built on the Ford DEW98 platform that also underpinned the Lincoln LS, Jaguar S-Type and Jaguar XF, as Ford owned Jaguar at the time. This 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible is powered by Jaguar’s 3.9L AJ30 V8 that puts out 252hp and 267lb-ft to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS and variable assistance power steering are present as well. This example is also reported to have received a brand new battery.

The '50s was surely iconic. The cars, the music and the vibes were ones never to be relieved. Looking to experience or relive the magical time? Present today is this 1957 Ford Thunderbird. It's a '50s classic that ensures an original driving experience and looks that make you turn back as you park.
Ford’s T-Bird brought Americans a slice of the European Grand Tourer lifestyle. These luxury cars were initially two seaters with powerful engines and the best luxury and technological features of their time. They were designed to be owned and driven by the wealthy, and capable of crossing the country while imparting the least fatigue upon their occupants. If you’ve always had a soft spot for a T-Bird, this first-generation 1957 Ford Thunderbird is a fine catch. Coming to you with under 35,000 miles on the clock, we’re told that this car is just 1 of 68 produced in the beautiful color that you see in these photos. That fact, plus its original mileage and up-to-date servicing make it a fine classic car that’s a shrewd investment too.
The first-generation Thunderbird was introduced in 1954 as Ford’s answer to the Chevy Corvette that came out the year before. To call it a direct competitor of the Vette would, however, be inaccurate. While the Corvette was a small and lightweight 2-seater with a fiberglass body (to compete with European sports cars), the T-Bird was more of a 2-seater personal luxury car for a younger demographic of buyers (being smaller and lighter than most Detroit products at the time). In fact, in its first production year, it outsold the Corvette by a massive margin. In total, over 53,000 first-generation Thunderbirds were made in 3 years of production, with 1957 being the most successful year.
Ford’s Mustang has always been a playful sort of car, targeted at those who want to have fun. After all, it’s what created the whole pony car segment. But what if a Mustang could truly be hotted up? This is what epic racer, tuner and red-blooded American Carroll Shelby pondered. Well, the man was known for putting his thoughts into actions and the rest, as they say, is history. Even today, Ford offers a Shelby variant of its Mustang. Shelby Mustangs are known for being drag strip demons or ferocious track tools. If you want a relatively modern Shelby Mustang but aren’t willing to wait in queues, we’ve got this 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 locked and loaded for you to buy right now. With a mere 1,196 miles on the odometer, it’s basically a brand-new car.
