Overview of 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante For Sale by Owner

Lights, camera, and action. It’s the 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante grabbing everyone’s attention with its alluring silhouette and roaring V12 symphonies. A car that rocked the planet, when Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker came together to design and debut this masterpiece in 2003. It was built on a “vertical/horizontal” platform, which mainly consisted of aluminum and other composite materials melded together. This structure managed to achieve double the torsional rigidity of its predecessor despite being just three quarters of the weight before. Aston Martin equipped the DB9 with anti-roll bars and a double wishbone suspension supported by coil springs, while rear suspension was given additional anti-squat and anti-lift technology. All this came together to present the driver with spectacular handling along with a front mid-engine mounted V12 providing a reported 450 horsepower to the rear wheels. This particular 2005 specimen we have today has clocked only just 40,950 miles on the odometer and is for sale in Nevada.

Exterior and Interior

Dressed in a lavish coat of red paint, this “topless” Aston Martin DB9 is a charming machine. The Volante’s convertible top comes in black matching the iconic front grille. The 19-inch silver Aston Martin alloy wheels come wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza 235/40ZR19 tires in the front and 275/35ZR19 in the rear. The Volante gets ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels which are equipped with Brembo four-piston calipers. The interior of this 2005 DB9 is upholstered in black leather along with wood panels tastefully fitted on the door panels. The rest of the cabin is inspired by the distinguished 2001 Vanquish except for the air vents which are mounted in a lower position to make space for a pop-up satellite navigation screen.

Engine

Under the hood of this 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante is a potent 5.9-liter V12 engine generating a reported maximum power output of 450 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 570 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed ZF Friedrichshafen ‘Touchtronic’ automatic gearbox that is rear-mounted and driven by a carbon-fiber tail shaft inside a cast aluminum torque tube. The sleek body allows the DB9 to hit a top speed of 180 mph and hit zero to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds.
