Shelby Mustangs are widely recognized as the most potent variants for the defining pony car. Created by none other than the legendary Carroll Shelby, their legacy lives on even though their namesake has sadly demised. This particular 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is from the fifth generation of Mustang and packs quite a few enhancements to further differentiate it from what is already a pretty exclusive club. With just 10,100 miles on the odometer, it's a lightly-run example that will make a great driver's car as well as a savvy investment.

Exterior and Interior

The fifth generation 'Stang was widely hailed as a return to form since it featured a new take on the first generation's iconic styling. This 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 showcases itself in a clean white suit punctuated by a set of blue over-the-top stripes. Further enhancements on the outside include Stance SF03 18-inch gloss black rotary flow wheels with a tinted face and reportedly wearing new Continental Extreme Contact Sport XL tires. Looking further, you'll also notice the addition of side scoops, Raxiom 5th generation tail lamps with black housing, smoked lenses, and an LED smoked third brake lamp. There are also Raxiom Radial Series smoked side marker lamps, as well as smoked LED turn signals. Since this 'Stang is a drop-top, you'll also find a black canvas top that can be put down for a gorgeous open-air experience. A final point on the exterior is the presence of ample Shelby badging. Inside, there's a four-seat interior featuring a charcoal color theme punctuated by a Sherwood rosewood trim dash kit. We also find a Kenwood Excelon stereo system with Bluetooth and navigation that utilizes a touchscreen control interface, as well as front and rear cameras. Furthermore, there's air conditioning, a multifunction steering wheel, and even a Shelby plaque in the center console. The current owner tells us that the front seats feature custom-fit seat covers, and there's LED lighting in the trunk too.

Engine

This 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 features a 5.4L supercharged V8 with quite a few goodies. There's a Ford Performance throttle body, dual-bore 65mm Cobra jets, a J&L 3.0 oil separator, a clear anodized passenger side kit, an AIRRAID MXP Series high-density polyurethane black cold air intake with Synthamax, and a Blue filter with an intake tube. Drive goes to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. With the upgrades and well kept mechanical components, this Shelby is ready to endure another life long journey with its next owner.
