There are Ferrari fans and Lamborghini fans. These two automakers are the top-tier Italian sports- and supercar makers, with a no-compromise ethos on performance and flamboyance. But what if you want something a little different, a little more chilled out, laid back and, whisper it, luxurious. Is it a sacrilegious ask? Not if you consider Maserati. They’ve been at this game for decades. They don’t go head-to-head with prancing horses and charging bulls, choosing to blaze their own trail instead, with Grand Tourers (GT cars) such as the GranTurismo. This 2011 Maserati GranTurismo S Coupe is a fine example of what they used to be a mere 11 years ago, and with just 33,100 miles on it, is ready for much more. Take a chance on it!

Maserati styling is distinctive, and you won’t mistake this 2011 Maserati GranTurismo S Coupe as having parentage from anyone else but Maserati. Dressed in a slick black suit of paint, its Pininfarina-penned lines that came straight off Jason Castriota’s pen are perfectly shown off. The silver 20-inch alloys sport the trident at the end of each spoke, another nod to Maserati’s emblem, and a trio of chrome-ringed vents lie just behind each front wheel. Piercing projector headlamps glare at you from the front, and at the rear, a discrete “4.7” badge informs you of the displacement of what lies beneath its long hood. A front nose protector is reported, and will go a long way in protecting it from stone chips. Open the door and the darkness melts away into a red interior that can only be from an Italian car. The GranTurismo is actually a proper four-seater, and offers relatively spacious accommodations as a result. The front seats are electrically adjustable, there’s dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, Bose sound system, multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters for gear selection, metal pedals with Maserati trident on the brake pedal, and cruise control among other refinements. The classy gauge cluster includes a 200mph speedometer and tachometer red-lined at 7,500rpm, telling you that this car likes to play when prodded.

And play it will if you bury the throttle pedal into the carpet. Under the graceful hood of this 2011 Maserati GranTurismo S Coupe lies a 4.7L V8 engine that’s shared with the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Power outputs are 434hp at 7,000rpm and torque is a very healthy 361lb-ft at 4,750rpm. A six-speed Graziano automated manual transmission that’s shared with the Ferrari F430 sends drive to the rear wheels. Figures stand at 4.9 seconds to sixty from rest, and a top speed of 183mph which is very impressive for a 4,000lb GT car. Need we mention the shriek that emanates from the tailpipes as the revs rise? No, you’d best experience that yourself, and it will raise the hairs on the back of your neck each time, and weirdly, you’ll find yourself wanting to hear it again…and again.

If you want an Italian grand tourer with a spacious interior, capacious boot and above all, a tuneful naturally aspirated V8, it’s hard to knock the Maserati GranTurismo in first generation form. Produced between 2007 and 2019, it received many variants and special editions, but a V8 was always under the hood, sans any forced induction. Today’s 2011 Maserati GranTurismo S is a rather nice example, because the current owner reports that the car’s never seen winter or even rain! Coming with a GranTurismo S car cover, we’re informed that this 36,480-mile example from Frankfort, Illinois, has been dealer-inspected and rated to be in excellent condition.

With a name like GranTurismo, you can imagine the purpose of this fine Maserati automobile. Yes, this breathtakingly beautiful two-door coupe is meant to travel great distances while carrying enough luggage for cross-country trips. Introduced in 2007, the first generation was made until 2019. The second generation took over in 2023, and introduced electric power to the marque, but retained an internal combustion engine option too. This particular 2012 Maserati GranTurismo MC comes from the first generation, and brings a lovely naturally aspirated, Ferrari-derived V8 to the party. With just 23,830 miles on the clock, this New Jersey-based car is up for sale with a reported paint protection film, as well as all servicing is said to be up to date.

People don’t consider buying a Maserati for the purpose of a reliable daily car or a grocery-getter. While they can be used for such things if you wish, for the most part, Maserati cars fulfill the purpose of filling space in your garage with some evocative Italian metal. Also, they are the exact opposite of bad cars to drive. Especially the convertibles are strikingly attractive and fun to drive. What we have in store here is an example of the 2014 Maserati GranTurismo MC Convertible bearing 35,198 miles on its odometer. Located in Oxford, Georgia, this stunner is ready to transform even the homeliest garage into an oasis of beauty and class. When it’s out of the garage, you can enjoy driving it with its thrilling soundtrack and satisfying vigor.

Maserati is best-known for creating Italian cars that focus towards luxury rather than all-out performance. They leave the all-out stuff to Ferrari and Lamborghini, instead offering maybe seven tenths the performance, but with similar amounts of soul and impressive luxury features to pamper you. That’s why they are the choice of the discerning enthusiast who doesn’t want to compromise too much. The Grecale is their compact luxury crossover and is closely related to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Produced since 2023, it’s gained a reputation for offering a lively driving experience packed with character and plenty of family friendly features. If that sounds like you, check out this sub 20,000-mile 2023 Maserati Grecale Modena from Frisco. Coming with the Premium Package and a spicy turbocharged engine, it’s quite a nice thing to daily drive.
