Overview of 2018 Karma Revero Black Ocean Edition For Sale by Owner

Take your mind back to around 2010, and you might recall hearing something about a car called the Fisker Karma. In fact, you’re most likely to encounter the vehicle on TV if you’ve watched the series Two and a Half Men, when Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen as one of the main characters. Portraying a young tech entrepreneur, Kutcher’s character drives a Fisker Karma in the show, in contrast to the Mercedes-Benz SL that was the choice of Sheen’s character. Well, the Fisker Karma subsequently became the Karma Revero when Fisker turned bankrupt in 2013, and some of the assets were sold to a Chinese company. That company established Karma Automotive in California, and an updated car returned as the Karma Revero. Oh, and it’s made in California too. If all that sounds interesting, you can pick up a 2018 Karma Revero right now, and it’s a 1 of 1 Black Ocean Edition with a MSRP of $165K, as per the current owner. Bearing 26,130miles to its name, the car resides in…California!

Exterior and Interior

This 2018 Karma Revero comes in matte black, since it’s a Black Ocean Edition. The car’s distinctive design is the work of Henrik Fisker, the man who founded Fisker Automotive, and an automotive designer by profession. With its anodized black logos and badges, Black Ocean Edition door seals logo and Karma HRE custom wheels, it’s truly a head-turner on the streets. Meanwhile, yellow brake calipers add a dash of color to this interesting car’s monochrome exterior outlook. The car also features a solar roof, in case you didn’t notice it from our photos. The interior of this 2018 Karma Revero comes in black with yellow accents adding some striking contrast and breaking up the darkness. It’s a superbly well-equipped space for up to four adults to travel, with power front seats, automatic climate control, a digital gauge cluster, carbon fiber interior trim and a full infotainment suite. You’ll also notice that the rear cabin is set up in a two-seat configuration, with a high center console bisecting the seats. The seats themselves are upholstered in leather and alcantara for that blend of luxury and sportiness.

Engine

The powertrain of this 2018 Karma Revero is interesting, to say the least. It’s a plug-in hybrid system, utilizing a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine plus an electric motor. The gas engine acts as a generator, charging the car’s battery which can also be topped up at a plug socket. The engine can also generate power and directly send it to the motors, since this car is a series hybrid. Meanwhile, two electric motors power the rear axle and reportedly make up to 402 horsepower and 960lb-ft of torque. Exciting stuff.

Gas prices are skyrocketing, but going full EV still isn’t an avenue for many, especially if you live in an area where there are more gas stations than EV chargers. So why not pick up this 2018 Karma Revero from Los Angeles, and get the best of both worlds? You see, this lovely Corona Del Sol-colored four-door sedan is a range-extended electric hybrid. That means it’s got a gas engine that kicks in to charge a modestly-sized battery pack. Furthermore, you can also plug the vehicle into a charger and top up the 21.4 kilowatt-hour battery. There’s even a solar roof panel charging system for some added trickle juice! Plus, this sleek car comes with a mere 4,500 miles on the clock!

Emerging onto the automotive scene in 2011 under the moniker of the Fisker Karma, the inception of the Karma Revero was the visionary creation of acclaimed car designer Henrik Fisker, who had previously crafted iconic models for esteemed marques such as BMW, Ford, and Aston Martin. Fisker's journey from designer to entrepreneur led to the realization of his aspiration – a luxury automobile that would epitomize the essence of opulence while embracing eco-conscious innovation through its plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Fisker Karma made its initial presence felt between 2011 and 2012, but it was the profound reimagining and meticulous refinement that birthed the Karma Revero, gracing the market once again in 2017. A testament to its enduring appeal, this vehicle, boasting a mere 6,812 miles on its odometer, emerges as a compelling offering that is bound to capture the admiration of discerning enthusiasts and environmentally conscious drivers alike.

The present-day Karma Automotives was the brainchild of the Danish automotive Designer Henrik Fisker. Henrik had an impressive resume as he was the lead designer of the Aston Martin DB9, Artega GT, and the famous BMW Z8. He wanted to build a car designed from the ground up by him. Hence his co-founding of Fisker Automotive in 2007. Due to many reasons, Fisker Automotive was shuttered, and all but the name was bought over by a Chinese company that rebranded it as Karma Automotive. Their first model was the Karma Revero, produced from 2016 to 2020, and the second iteration from 2020 to date. Up for grabs is a car that will turn heads; this 2018 Karma Revero has just 8.400 miles on the odometer.

There are Saleen Mustangs, and then there is the Parnelli Jones Edition. Rather than simply adding horsepower to a standard Mustang GT, Saleen engineered an entirely different machine with a singular purpose: to recreate the balance, character, and driving excitement of the legendary Trans-Am racer in a modern package. Production was limited to just 500 examples, each finished exclusively in Grabber Orange and hand-built with numerous model-specific components that distinguish the PJ Edition from every other Saleen.
