Overview of 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Restomod For Sale by Owner

Few classic trucks excite restomod builders like the Chevrolet 3100. Its major post-WWII redesign, durability, and Art Deco styling have made it one of the most sought-after foundations in the restomod world. For the 1951 model year, a quirky "5-window" cab option was offered, which featured corner windows on the back of the cab. The example we are featuring here is also a "5-window" 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Restomod. With only 2486 miles on its odometer, this stunner is in Santa Ana, California. If you love making an entrance and packing the performance to back up the gusto, this 3100 will be an excellent choice.

Exterior and Interior

The lowered profile of this 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Restomod is adorned with custom Highland Green color and striking chrome features, and it is the first impression for others. The Smoothed fitted running boards refine the side profile. It is given a modern twist with the 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Billet Specialties staggered wheels. The rear bed is finished with polished wood and chrome strips. This 3100 rides on an upgraded Fat Man Mustang II independent front suspension and a TCI four-link rear suspension featuring QA1 adjustable coilovers at all four corners, providing superb handling. The cabin of this 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Restomod is trimmed in a reupholstered Macadamia. The driver gets a period-correct steering wheel fitted to a chrome steering column. A RetroSound audio system with Bluetooth capability and a custom hidden air conditioning system offers modern conveniences without interrupting the vintage aesthetic. An American Autowire complete wiring harness supports the electronics.

Engine

A shaved firewall forms a clean engine bay, and in it is a 6.0L Naturally Aspirated LQ9 V8 with electronic fuel injection. This powerplant is cooled by an aluminum four-core radiator. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4L60E automatic transmission to a Ford Racing 8.8-inch rear end featuring a 3.55:1 rear gear ratio. The engine makes use of a Texas Speed performance camshaft and a polished Holley Sniper EFI intake system for improved performance. Meanwhile, a custom dual exhaust system with stainless headers enhances air flow.
