Overview of 1965 Chevrolet C10 For Sale by Owner

In 1960, Chevrolet’s C/K-Series took over from the Task Force line-up as the Bowtie’s pickup truck range. Made over forty years and four generations, the C/K-Series morphed into what we know as the Silverado today. It’s a tough, dependable and long-serving machine that has helped countless Americans run their farms, garages, and small businesses. Now, a first-generation C/K, such as this 156,000-mile 1965 Chevrolet C10 makes for a fine restomod to own and drive. This truck comes with many upgrades, and a new engine plus gearbox with just a couple of thousand miles on them.

Exterior and Interior

Painted in black, the classic ʼ60s lines of this 1965 Chevrolet C10 are immediately recognizable, helped of course by some generous servings of chrome as was in vogue during the time. The bumpers, for example, are cloaked in the stuff. There’s even more glitz coming from the aftermarket chrome wheels that this truck rolls on, which wear new tires as well. Meanwhile, there’s a custom chrome and wood bed out back, protected from the elements by a hard cover. This isn’t a work truck anymore. The red interior of this 1965 Chevrolet C10 features red leather seats, red carpeting, and a new dashboard with modern gauges communicating all salient aspects of the truck’s health and performance to the driver. There’s also a new ignition switch, an air conditioning system, and even a modern-era Sony head unit with CD player and AUX input so that you can enjoy modern music. But all this sits seamlessly within the classic lines of the cabin, once again highlighting the fact that this is a restomod that retains the truck’s period-correct aura.

Engine

Under the hood of this 1965 Chevrolet C10 lies a 350ci V8 that’s been chromed, we’re told. This means that the engine bay gleams, thanks to the chrome air cleaner and valve covers. The engine is said to be a new unit, and mated to a rebuilt automatic transmission and powering the rear wheels. As we’ve mentioned both engine and transmission have just a couple of thousand miles on them. So, you’ve got plenty of V8 grunt, a rumbly engine note, and a truck that’s an absolute pleasure to drive.
