Overview of 1969 Pontiac Firebird For Sale by Owner

Introduced in 1967 along with its sibling the Chevy Camaro, Pontiac’s Firebird is one of those epic pony cars that, although it isn’t around anymore, you can be sure to find someone who knows about it wherever you go. The Firebird was prominently featured in Smokey And The Bandit, as well as Knight Rider, and as a result, has a cult following that extends beyond mere petrolhead circles. Today, we have a fine first-generation 1969 Pontiac Firebird for grabs in our inventory. This Lawton-based car has driven just over 70,000 miles in its life so far, and has reportedly been repainted in Hunter Green. It also boasts a redone interior, making it a nice classic car to acquire and enjoy straight away.

Exterior and Interior

At first glance, this 1969 Pontiac Firebird looks quite intriguing because of the design of the first generation. There’s no visible front bumper, instead the first thing that you see is the car’s chrome-surrounded grille. Then, you notice that it’s flanked by dual headlamps. Moving to the side profile, we see the iconic “Coke Bottle Hips” and get to really enjoy the car’s Hunter Green paint job. We also note its silver wheels, white-lettered BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and chrome strip at the bottom of the doors. Then, we get to the rear where we’re greeted by a rear decklid spoiler, a chrome bumper and wide taillamps flanking the PONTIAC script. The black interior of this 1969 Pontiac Firebird has reportedly been reupholstered. It can seat up to four adults on black vinyl seats and comes with wood trim adorning the dashboard and center console. Some auxiliary gauges have been added, and the radio has been upgraded as well. All this, plus the decently roomy trunk means that you can contentedly cruise with your family in this fine Firebird.

Engine

Under the hood sits a 350ci Pontiac V8, naturally aspirated and fed by a 4-barrel carburetor, delivering strong, period-correct performance and sound. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission, making the car easy and enjoyable to drive. Additional features such as dual exhaust enhance both performance and tone, while an aftermarket fuel tank adds peace of mind for regular use. Overall, this Firebird offers a straightforward and honest mechanical package that stays true to Pontiac’s muscle car heritage while benefiting from sensible updates.
