After making the transition to building civilian versions of their famed military off-roaders, Jeep quickly became a byword for stylish, practical, and dependable transport that could do anything and go virtually anywhere. Exterior and Interior
The exterior of this 1978 Jeep CJ-7 makes no business hiding its off-road capabilities. It rides tall courtesy of a lift kit, and sits on aftermarket wheels which are wrapped in Hankook 35x12.5 tires. The truck features a full fiberglass body, which is finished in a shade of orange. Part of that upgraded shell is a tilt-nose hood for easy engine access, plus a soft top with soft doors for that no-holds-barred outdoors experience. There are also 9-inch LED off-road lights, as well as LED taillights and a Reese-style hitch. The cabin is a spartan affair, with just the essentials retained for this impressive build. Engine
Under the tilt nose hood of this 1978 Jeep CJ-7 lies an impressive 304ci AMC V8 engine. It features an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and intake, as well as a mandrel-bent exhaust. Cooling is taken care of thanks to an aftermarket radiator, and there’s power steering and power disc brakes as well. All four wheels are powered via a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, and QuadraTrac AWD with long range.
