Overview of 1997 Jaguar XK 8 Convertible For Sale by Owner

The Jaguar XK was made between 1996 and 2014, across two generations. It was a fine two-door four-seat grand tourer from this iconic British luxury automaker that aimed to offer a laid back yet potent driving experience. Naturally, Jaguar also made it in drop-top form, for those who like an open-air experience. While the second generation is a sharp looking vehicle that’s still quite modern today, the first generation is a definite future classic. That’s why you should seriously consider buying this California-based 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible that we’ve got for sale. This car has traveled 118,956 miles so far, which shows how nice it is to drive. Moreover, it’s said to be all original, and the hydraulic pump has been replaced.

Exterior and Interior

Wearing a black coat, this 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible shows off its intricate lines and classic Nineties styling, which is the design work of Geoff Lawson. The car’s powered black convertible top further adds to its monochrome palette, while its five-spoke alloy wheels come in silver, and are once again, a distinctive design that can be found on many Jaguars from the same period. The tan interior of this 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible offers leather-upholstered seating for up to four adults. It’s well equipped, with air conditioning, climate control, power locks, power mirrors and power windows. You’ve also got analog gauges, and we’re told that the gas gauge doesn’t work, but that’s usually a minor fix. The gauges illuminate in a pleasing shade of green, and are a real treat to look at during night drives. The front seats have heating as well, and you’ll find the traditional Jaguar J-gate shifter for the automatic transmission of the car. You’ve also got a Jaguar branded radio with cassette tape player within the center console. The driver’s seat does show some signs of wear, but once again, shows that this car has been enjoyed, and is waiting to give further enjoyment to its new owner.

Engine

Packing a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 under the hood, every cruise in this 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible is a memorable one. The engine drives the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic gearbox for a seamless driving experience.

One of Jaguar Car’s sleekest and most timeless modern models with definite future classic status has got to be the first-generation XK. This grand tourer was made between 1996 and 2006 before the second generation took over. It was intended to replace the long-running XJS, and did so in a pretty comprehensive fashion. Offered in coupe and convertible forms, the XK could be had with six or eight cylinder power. Naturally, the latter is what most people want, and it’s what we have here. Behold, a 2003 Jaguar XK8 Coupe that’s got under 131,000 healthy miles to its name. That is an indicator of two things. One, this is a car that is very nice indeed to drive. Two, it’s built well, and if maintained properly, can easily double that figure in your hands. Your hands? Yes, this charismatic purring cat is up for sale in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Are you yearning for a modern British grand tourer from a renowned automaker with a V8 under the hood? If so, look no further than this X150-series 2014 Jaguar XK from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This car comes with an uber-low mileage of just 7,750 miles on the odometer, and is a one-owner vehicle. The X150 era of the XK was produced between 2006 and 2015, with over 27,000 examples made during that time. Now, these cars are gracefully aging and starting to look even better, especially when you consider today’s cookie-cutter EVs and soulless PHEVs. This car also comes with some nice 20-inch Orona 8-spoke polished wheels and is a drop-top!

This 1983 Jaguar XJS Coupe represents one of the finest surviving examples of the model, showing just 14,878 miles from one owner. Finished in elegant Grosvenor Brown over a Biscuit leather interior, this V12-powered Jaguar remains remarkably preserved and is accompanied by its original documentation, a set of OEM factory wheels, and the original factory dual-beam headlights. Combining low ownership, exceptionally low mileage, and a highly original presentation, this XJS offers collectors an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire one of Jaguar’s most sophisticated grand touring coupes from the 1980s.
