The 1997 Jeep Wrangler saw the model move into its second generation, also known by the TJ model code. This chassis focused on refining the first-generation, adding comfort while maintaining the Wrangler position in the Jeep lineup. The TJ ditched leaf springs for the more sophisticated coils, while the design brought back the iconic circular headlights that remain a hallmark of the range until today. The 1997 MY Jeep Wrangler TJ listed here features a number of tasteful modifications and is offered with a reported 155,000 miles on the clock.
The TJ-generation Jeep Wrangler’s most significant styling feature was the return to the much-loved circular headlight style, which its predecessor ditched in favor of rectangular units. Our listed example is finished in bright red, with a number of chrome accents, including the surrounds of the iconic seven-slat grille, mirrors, door hinges, and headlight surrounds, which are complete with matching stone guards. There’s a purposeful bull bar up front, while this 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ includes an array of auxiliary lamps by KC Lights. This TJ sits on aftermarket Mickey Thompson wheels with bead locks and are wrapped in 31-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires. At the rear, you’ll find a chrome bumper and a spare tire mounted on the exterior. It includes an Alabama Crimson Tide spare wheel cover. The Alabama college theme continues inside. The brown and red custom reupholstered interior features the University Of Alabama “A” stitched on the headrests. The original two-spoke Jeep steering wheel is mounted ahead of the original gauge cluster. Aside from speed and engine RPM, there are also gauges for oil temperature, water temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level. An aftermarket Sony X-Plod stereo powering roof-mounted speakers is also present.
Under the hood is a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder powerplant. When new, this engine was quoted as outputting 120 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. In the 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ, it is mated to a manual transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

Jeep is widely known for its go-anywhere off-roaders. But did you know that this prolific brand also makes pickup trucks? The Gladiator is their pickup truck offering these days, but the Commanche was the man of the moment between 1985 and 1992. Produced with multiple bed lengths, and two- or four-wheel drive choices, the Commanche became a Jeep staple during its time. Many buyers appreciated how it offered the signature Jeep off-road experience but could easily carry heavy loads for work purposes. If you’d like to have a Commanche in your life, this 175,273-mile 1988 Jeep Commanche is a great place to start. It’s got a rebuilt engine and comes with a few cosmetic tweaks, too.

The vehicle was imported from Great Britain and has undergone a full restoration by Defender Motorsport. So, if you’re looking for a Defender with several twists, this is the one for you.
