Overview of 2005 Bentley Arnage R For Sale by Owner

The Bentley Arnage is widely considered to be the last of the old-school Bentleys. Introduced in 1998, when Volkswagen was purchasing Bentley from the Vickers Group, the Arnage continued until 2010. It presented a stark contrast to the brand's newer and more modernly designed Continental GT and Flying Spur models of 2005 and after. In its early days, the Arnage was also badged as the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph. Up for sale today is a lovely 2005 Bentley Arnage R with 61,000 miles and plenty of old-school charm and character. Delving deeper, we'll also show you some of its surprising luxury and comfort features.

Exterior and Interior

From the outside, this 2005 Bentley Arnage R showcases the old-school, upright design language that both Bentley and Rolls-Royce employed from the Seventies till the mid-Two Thousands. The car wears a Burnt Oak dark brown paint coat that looks nearly black in certain lighting conditions. It's got a timeless silhouette that may not be the most aerodynamic around, but it doesn't matter when you've got a stonking great engine to do the pushing. The only hint of such potency is the peeking of the twin tailpipes from beneath the rear bumper. Upon entering the cabin, you'll be greeted by plenty of Saddle Brown leather, plus wood and veneer trim. The comfortable seats are said to sport premium leather and come with power adjustment for the front and rear units. There's dual-zone automatic climate control on board, a premium audio system, onboard navigation, and even parking sensors. You'll also find Bentley's signature organ-stop air vents and a wood veneer panel that slides to hide the radio when desired, creating a cleaner visual appearance of the center console. At the front, there's a tilt-and-slide sunroof too. Meanwhile, the spacious trunk at the rear of the car can accommodate copious amounts of luggage, highlighting this car's ability to facilitate long trips while you explore America, replete with an outfit for every occasion.

Engine

The stonking great engine that we spoke of earlier is a 6.75L twin-turbocharged V8, also known as the six-and-three-quarter. For this 2005 Bentley Arnage R, it's not an outright powerhouse, but instead tuned for torque early in the rev range. Hence, you can waft about peacefully, riding a wave of torque that the 5-speed automatic transmission seamlessly shifts to the rear wheels. For academic sake, figures are 400hp and 616lb-ft. When it's time to stop, front and rear ventilated disc brakes are more than capable of bringing this luxury car to a steady stop."

Bentley is the choice for the discerning luxury car buyer who loves to drive, rather than be driven. That’s why this brand is a bit more towards the tire-smoking, apex-cutting direction, unlike Rolls-Royce, who frown upon such shenanigans. While the brand makes some superb full-size luxury sedans, grand tourers and even an SUV today, why not sample some old-school, modern-classic Bentley magic. Consider this 1999 Bentley Arnage Green Label as the perfect partner to do so. It’s got under 77,000 miles on the clock, and comes to you with two keys. Morevoer, the current owner tells us that it’s received an oil and filter change, plus an HVAC system servicing in August 2024.
