American performance cars always seem to be underrated compared to their European counterparts. But this 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Wil Cooksey Z06 427 Limited Edition No. 112, with just under 20,000 miles on the odometer, puts all that mockery to sleep. It emphasizes exactly what American performance cars have done so well for so many years (70 years in the case of the Corvette): rear-wheel drive, manual transmission, and an absolutely massive V8 up front.
Exterior and Interior
Inside, you are greeted with some lovely black leather memory seats with contrast stitching, color-matched trim, and a center console sighed by Wil Cooksey himself. An aftermarket pioneer head unit pairs nicely with the fantastic Bose sound system. Heated seats and climate control have been graciously fitted for the rare occasion this car is driven in a tame manner. The C6 Corvette already has a stunning silhouette, but its curves are given more limelight thanks to this stunning Crystal Red paint and the black stripe running across the hood. Add in some spider chrome 19-inch wheels wrapped in Micheline Pilot Super Sports, and this car is sure to gather an unfathomable amount of attention and compliments.
Engine
Under that long red hood is a GM’s LS7 7-liter V8. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, it promises a driving experience that is nothing short of sensational. It stops as fast as it goes thanks to 6-piston front brake calipers and 4-piston rear brake calipers. All of which are drilled and ventilated of course.
