Ford has been building practical and amazing trucks since time immemorial. What the Ford Mustang is in the pony car segment, the F-Series is in the truck segment. The Ford F-Series, the successor of the Ford Pickup, began production in 1948. It wasn't until 1999 that Ford introduced the Ford Super Duty or F-Series Super Duty trucks dedicated to the heavy lifting segment, with a target market for ranchers, heavy load transporters, etc. The F-Series is currently in its fourth generation, with the F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and the F-600 coming under the Super Duty banner. Up for grabs is a 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL with a tasty upgrade in the form of an Any Level Lift kit and just 125,500 miles on the odometer.
Exterior and Interior
Of the 10 exterior color options available for the 2012 F-250, this 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL is finished in the Tuxedo Black exterior color. The front fascia features an EAG mesh grille with chrome rivets around the edges, flanked by aftermarket LED lights and replacing the stock bumper with a heavy-duty front bumper painted in matte black from Iron Cross Automotives. Recessed in the bumper is the 12,000 lbs Pro Series electric winch. The sides feature aftermarket fender flares from Bushwacker and power steps from AMP research. The bright blue painted ANY Level Lidt kit is visible underneath the truck. The stock 17" wheels have been replaced by a set of Hostage D531 wheels from Fuel painted matte black. Color-keyed scuff plates and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel are onboard. An overhead console is visible with a storage bin.
Engine
The beating heart of the 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL is a 6.7L Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The V8 can churn out 400hp of power and an earth-shattering 800 lb.ft of torque. The battery, driveshafts and brake lines have been replaced. The Any Level Lift kit gives the F-250 over 12" of ride height adjustment
This 1964 Ford F-250 Custom Flatbed takes Ford’s classic heavy-duty pickup formula and gives it a distinctly custom personality. The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL Crew Cab 4x4 is built around the kind of heavy-duty capability that has made Ford’s Super Duty line a mainstay for towing, hauling, and work use. Showing 37,605 miles, this Agate Black example combines the 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 with four-wheel drive, a 10,000-pound GVWR package, and a 3.31 electronic-locking rear axle. According to the seller, it has also been fitted with a 6-inch lift kit, giving the truck a more aggressive stance and additional ground clearance. Factory equipment including the Power Equipment Group, engine block heater, 110V/400W outlet, SYNC 3, and telescoping heated power mirrors rounds out a specification that blends serious utility with useful everyday features.
The 1968 Ford F-250 Highboy Custom Conventional Cab represents an era when Ford’s heavy-duty pickups were built with uncompromising simplicity and capability. Showing approximately 67,321 miles, this F-250 retains its factory configuration with no modifications reported since leaving the factory. Showing approximately 2,242 miles, this build combines a 302ci Ford Racing crate V8 with a Holley 570 CFM Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor, a 3-speed manual transmission, and four-wheel drive. Finished in Wimbledon White and Guardsman Blue with dual Blue stripes, it also features James Duff suspension, Dana 44 and Ford 9-inch axle hardware, Warn locking hubs, roadster-style doors, a family-style roll cage, and a long list of custom audio and trim upgrades. The result is a Bronco that retains its unmistakable early off-road character while incorporating the mechanical and aesthetic touches enthusiasts look for in a thoughtfully executed restomod.
