Although the Europeans certainly know how to build desirable and sensational supercars, America isn’t without its fair share either. Aside from the usual names coming from the usual manufacturers, one must never forget the existence of the California-based Lucra, where pure performance is the name of the game. This 2012 Lucra LC470 prototype is an excellent example of that. Aesthetically a successor to the beloved Cobra, the Lucra LC470 is the result of one man’s pursuit of speed and superior agility in handling. This particular vehicle is a prototype and an excellent choice for the performance driving enthusiast. It’s light, nimble, and, most of all, powerful. With just over 620 miles on the clock, this Lucra is immaculate and is a great choice for your collection — either to preserve or to enjoy it for what it is.

Everything about the Lucra’s design is about speed and power. The black exterior makes each curve of this 2012 Lucra LC470 Prototype’s body stand out. Hugging low to the ground, the Lucra has a bold but elegant aura, presenting itself with the confidence and assurance that it can play toe to toe with any opponent. The curves flow from front to back, never breaking the flow of the viewer’s gaze as it follows the outline of the Lucra. But look past the beautiful design, and you’ll find a carbon fiber body, which is reported to keep the weight down to 2200lbs. It also helps the car slip through the air, gently pressing forward as the speedometer rises. With the open-top design, you’ll be able to feel it for yourself. Inside, you’ll find everything you need, at least for anyone considering buying a Lucra LC470. A simple interior comprising of a couple of seats that hug and support the driver and possibly passenger, a dashboard with an instrument cluster, a steering wheel, and that’s about it. It’s rudimentary and ensures that the main focus of the LC470 — its power and performance — remains in focus.

The Lucra LC470 prototype sports a massive 7.0-liter GM LS7 engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, which the current owner reports to deliver 700 hp. It also features a chrome molly chassis in addition to the carbon fiber body. These weight-saving measures result in a reported 0-60 time of 2.3 seconds and a quarter mile time of 10.8 seconds, according to the owner.

In 2005, Chevrolet revealed the all-new C6 or sixth generation Corvette. It did away with pop-up headlamps due to tightening safety regulations, but improved upon the C5 in nearly every other way. Whether it be power, performance or luxury features, the C6 represented a healthy upgrade over the C5. That’s why even today, C6 Corvettes like this 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe are considered to be a great way to sample America’s greatest home-grown sports car marque. This particular car has just 14,732 miles on the clock and comes from Colorado. It’s got the 3LT Preferred Equipment Group, the Magnetic Selective Ride Control adaptive suspension system and a lovely 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 under the hood.

BMW’s 3-Series is a fine compact luxury car, embodying BMW’s spirit of creating the Ultimate Driving Machine. The default choice for many petrolheads for decades, BMW had the bright idea of pushing the envelope and creating a halo variant in the mid 1980s. Their efforts came to fruition with the E30 M3 that ran between 1986 and 1991. With its fizzy four-cylinder engine and myriad performance enhancements, the letter-and-number pairing of M3 quickly gained a reputation. Ever since then, every 3-Series has been accompanied by an M3. Engines grew from four to six to eight cylinders, and then went back to six, albeit with turbocharging. This particular 2023 BMW M3 Competition from Sunset, Texas is from the current G80 series and has just 5,000 miles on the clock. Plus it’s got the Competition Package for an even more hardcore driving experience, while retaining the family-friendliness that the 3-Series is known for.
