Mercedes-Benz is known for a myriad of models in the United States, and one of its iconic nameplates is the SL. Standing for Sport Light or Super Light, the SL is their pinnacle sports car that has been produced since 1954. This is a 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL400 Roadster from the R231 generation that was introduced in 2012 and will bow out in 2021 for the all-new R232 series. Coming from Missouri, this car has done 27,800 miles and makes a fine sports cruiser that can be used as a daily runner or weekend toy, depending on your desires.

This 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL400 Roadster wears a suave Diamond White Metallic paintwork that highlights its sharp design. It rolls on a set of equally clean and neat five-spoke 19” AMG spoked wheels, and sports a folding metal roof that can be raised or dropped with the touch of a button. This roof also comes with the Glass Roof Package that adds a sunroof to this, which allows you to enjoy the light or night sky without having to open the entire roof. The interior complements the suave and simplistic exterior with its beige leather, wood trims and black dash. Two passengers can be accommodated in the cabin, where they can enjoy the Dynamic Seating Package and Front Seat Climate Control packages. Of course, dual-zone climate control for the cabin is present, as is a premium Harman/Kardon sound system with navigation. The Airscarf system blows warm air around the necks of occupants to keep them comfortable when driving with the top down on chilly days. Other toys include the rear view camera, Active Park Assist, leather steering wheel with wood trim insert and paddle shifters, and keyless go, with two keys included in the sale.

The R231 range offered a variety of gasoline engines ranging from a 3.0L V6 (183ci) to a 6.0L V12 (366ci). A diesel engine was never offered with an SL. This 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL400 Roadster comes with a 3.0L (183ci) M276 DE LA BiTurbo V6 engine that puts out a healthy 328hp and 354 lb.ft, figures that are ample for cruising, as well as pushing on when the mood strikes. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox with manual shifting via steering-mounted paddles.

Mercedes-Benz has a fine array of grand tourers, but if you want a true-blue sports car with a star on its nose, the Mercedes-AMG GT is as fine as they come. Introduced in 2014, the AMG GT is now in its second generation of production. It’s a fearsome two-door fastback coupe with a twin-turbo V8 under its hood. Hence, it makes for a fine car to drive regularly, and we have a 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 55 for sale right now. This 3,000-mile machine comes with a 469 horsepower 4.0-liter V8, an AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive and a host of tech features. It’s currenrly available in Dallas.

If you want a German classic car with some modern conveniences, a V8 under the hood and a fine legacy, you can’t go amiss by choosing a Mercedes-Benz SL from the R107 era. Over 300,000 were made between 1971 and 1989, of which two thirds came to North America. The R107 redefined the term boulevard cruiser, with its performance, luxury interior and driving manners over long distances. If that sounds like your cup of tea, we have this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL for sale right now. It’s from Scottsdale, Arizona, and has covered just over 71,000 miles so far. It’s also got a smooth M177 5.6-liter V8 under the hood.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands in stark contrast to the rest of this iconic German luxury car maker’s offerings. Its boxy, prominent, and can venture off-road with gusto. Introduced in 1979 as a military machine on the request of the Shah of Iran, civilian variants emerged in 1979. Since then, the G-Class has gained the typical Mercedes-Benz luxury features and technological highlights, but maintains its immense off-road capabilities. This 2019 Mercedes-Benz G550 is one fine example and it’s up for sale in Salt Lake City, Utah. With 94,604 miles on it, you can tell that it’s meant to be driven. Plus, given its off-road abilities, this is the perfect family vehicle for the outdoors-loving crowd.
