Overview of 2018 Lexus GX460 460 SUV For Sale by Owner

If you’re seeking a Toyota Land Cruiser that’s got a bit more luxury and style, but retains the legendary off-road capabilities, Lexus’ line-up of the GX and LX models are your ideal candidate. Based on the Land Cruiser Prado and full-size Land Cruiser respectively, these are luxuriously-appointed SUVs that come with the legendary Toyota reliability. This 2018 Lexus GX460 SUV is a prime example of that. Boasting just 26,639 miles, it’s the ideal candidate if you’re looking for a dependable Japanese SUV for the family that can do the city run, interstate cruise and trail bash all in one capable package.

Exterior and Interior

Hailing from the second-generation GX, this 2018 Lexus GX460 SUV is based on the sturdy Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 generation, albeit with Lexus’ own design at the front and rear. That means you get redesigned head and tail lamps, a larger grille with more chrome, more sculpted front and rear bumpers, and ample Lexus badging. Wearing a Starfire Pearl white paintwork, this example will look equally great in pristine polished condition, or wearing a coat of mud around its wheel arches. Headlamp washers ensure that lighting output stays clear and bright at all times. The interior is in beige, and features the Premium Package which brings Mahogany wood trim, rain sensing wipers, heated and ventilated front seats which are already electrically adjustable, and heated outboard second row seats. You’ve also got the Navigation Package, three-zone climate control, multifunction Mahogany wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel, a cargo net and mat, cargo tonneau, blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert, premium sound system, and infotainment system with Dolby Digital, SiriusXM and HD Radio.

Engine

This 2018 Lexus GX460 SUV packs Toyota’s 1UR-FE 4.6L V8 engine that’s rated to put out a healthy 301hp and 329lb-ft to all four wheels via a A760F six-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting available at the gear lever. You’ve also got low range, crawl control, active traction control and hill descent control at your disposal.

The GX is a full-size luxury SUV that was first brought to light for the North American and Eurasian markets in 2002 by Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division. The GX is based on the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser Prado platform, which naturally credits it as a proper off-road machine. However, the idea for the GX was to be truly different. It had to be a savage beast off-road, whilst offering the highest levels of Japanese luxury and automotive craftsmanship. The second-generation GX received a plethora of technical as well as mechanical changes since its debut in 2009, but exterior upgrades were fairly subtle until 2013. This fine 2015 Lexus GX 460 currently resides in Maryland and has just 66,000 miles on the odometer.
