The first-generation Corvette wasn’t the sales success you may have thought it was. Although today it’s a bonafide classic that almost acts as Genesis for the American car manufacture’s modern sports cars, the C1 Corvette was rushed through to production. The project was aimed to appeal towards war returnees who had developed a taste for British sports cars. But the early C1 ’Vettes were no-where near as polished or as fast as their counterparts from across the pond. However, in 2021, such complaints are unlikely to surface, especially not towards our Florida-located 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Restomod. With a 327ci V8 under the hood and extensive work—both cosmetic and mechanical—this early Corvette is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.

This 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Restomod appears to be in immaculate condition both inside and out. The exterior has been painted in a stunning shade borrowed from Nissan: Platinum Graphite Pearl K51, along with contrasting white coves. All brightwork appears to be intact, including the 1960’s heavy-grilled “teeth” and rear fender-molded tail lamps. The interior is finished in GM Torch Red, with details such as Corvette-embossed carpets, gear pattern illustration, and oversized steering wheel all intact and period-correct.

Under-hood is where this restomod starts to take shape. It features a small-block 327ci V8 that has been bored and balanced, paired to an Edelbrock 600 CFM 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock dual-plane high-torque intake. The engine features a Comp Cams 270 hydraulic roller camshaft, as well as TFS Trick Flow Heads and Pertonix electronic ignition. With this carefully selected parts combination, this Corvette has been dyno’d at 355 hp @ 5000 rpm. Other tasty mechanical additions are front disc brakes (with dual master cylinder), a 4.11 Positraction differential, a Muncie T10 4-speed manual, and a DeWitt high-performance aluminum radiator.

Today’s 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z16 Grand Sport 3LT is quite a quick beast indeed. Hailing from the sixth or C6 era of America’s favorite sports car, it’s got a snarling 6.2-liter V8 under the hood, the 3LT Preferred Equipment Group, a removable roof package, and more. Plus, with under 69,000 miles on the clock, this Sierra Vista-based car is a fine upgrade for someone who seeks a sports car that can give them a good time during every drive. It’s even got a dual-mode performance exhaust to further add to the sense of theatre that Corvettes are known for.

Now this is the performance bargain of the decade! Chevy’s fine C8 or eighth-generation Corvette dropped for the 2020 model year and immediately caused a stir. If you grew up in the Nineties and Two Thousands, it’s highly likely that your bedroom wall featured a poster (or several) of the C5 or fifth generation Chevy Corvette. With its sleek, space-age looks, pop-up headlamps and sporty stance, the C5 was an aspirational point for many. Today, you can own one, courtesy of this 23,122-mile 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that’s available in Alcolu, South Carolina. But wait, this isn’t yet another Z06. You see, this car includes the complete documentation packet, original window sticker and all original manuals. It’s also got the original factory wheels and tires in case the aftermarket wheels it wears aren’t your thing. But that’s not all, we also find that the original promotional CD and VHS tape are included, still sealed in cellophane! Now this is a fine time capsule and worthy of preservation!

his 2024 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Coupe represents one of the final and most desirable iterations of Chevrolet’s modern muscle car, finished as a Collectors Edition example and numbered #9 of just 300 produced.
