The first-generation Corvette wasn’t the sales success you may have thought it was. Although today it’s a bonafide classic that almost acts as Genesis for the American car manufacture’s modern sports cars, the C1 Corvette was rushed through to production. The project was aimed to appeal towards war returnees who had developed a taste for British sports cars.
