The BMW E90 series of vehicles is widely considered as one of the best generations of BMW 3-Series. Available in a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, and two-door coupe and convertible forms, the 3-Series was a junior executive car that had widespread appeal. The E93, with its folding hardtop roof, holds a considerable amount of charm thanks to its combination of open-air driving and coupe lines with the NVH benefits of a metal roof. Our subject car is a 2010 335i M-Sport E93 with a host of modifications under the hood and to the exterior. Along with the extensive upgrades, we’re assured that all maintenance has been performed, with the transmission serviced, brake system flushed, and cooling system maintenance recently completed too.

This 2010 BMW 335i features several weight-saving replacement panels, including a carbon fiber hood from Seibon, carbon folding mirrors, and a CSL-style fiberglass trunk lid. It also features an FRP front splitter, side skirt extensions, and FRP rear diffuser along with carbon rear canards. This 335i has been lowered with Bilstein shocks paired with H&R springs, which sit over 19” SF07 Stance wheels with upgraded front end control arms. The inside follows suit, with a full carbon interior upgrade, including a carbon-wrapped wheel, carbon paddle shifters, and a Momo shift knob. The convertible hardtop is coded to open at speeds up to 15mph.

The BMW 335i has a 3.0-liter straight six-cylinder N53 assisted by a turbo set-up from the factory. Stock output was 302hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, but our subject car features numerous engine upgrades, including upgraded Stage 2 Pure Turbos along with an Arm front-mount intercooler and Tial Blow-off valve. This 335i has a Stage 3 fuel pump to assist the motor’s new fueling demands, along with a BMP port injection kit. Spark is provided by Precision Raceworks race coils and 2-step colder NGK plugs. The car runs on an MHD piggyback tune, along with a JB4 PI controller on a full E85 tune. Also included in the build is a VSRF inlet, upgraded charge pipe, and upgraded aluminum outlet. Other notable upgrades include Wagner catless downpipes, a Vanguard cat-back performance exhaust, and a new valve cover and oil filter gasket. Last but not least, the brakes have been upgraded with improved brake lines, pads, and new rotors that are slotted and cross-drilled.

The 2021 BMW 540i occupies a critical position within the 5 Series lineup, offering one of the most balanced interpretations of BMW’s modern sport-luxury philosophy. Positioned below the full M variants yet notably more engaging than the four-cylinder models, the 540i benefits from BMW’s highly regarded B58 inline-six engine, a powertrain praised for its smoothness, responsiveness, and long-term reliability. When equipped with the M Sport, Shadowline, and Premium packages, the 540i moves beyond the role of a traditional executive sedan and adopts a more driver-focused character, while still maintaining the refinement and comfort expected in this segment. It is engineered to perform equally well as a daily commuter, long-distance cruiser, and occasional spirited driver’s car.
