A few months after unveiling the M8 coupe and convertible, BMW introduced the M8 Gran Coupe model to their automotive portfolio. Signaling the start of a defining new era, the M8 Grand coupe boasts a combination of luxury, elegance, comfort and an outstanding sporty character with impressive driving dynamics. However, stretching the envelope further, BMW released the 2020 M8 Gran Coupe Competition First Edition, which is production-capped at just 400 cars. We are proud to present this extremely rare specimen of a 2020 BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition First Edition. In addition to being 1 of 400 made, it is 1 of the 50 reported to be in the US. Located in California, this car comes with only 9,000 miles on the clock and a slew of optional extras.
Exterior and Interior
This M8 Gran Coupe Competition First Edition’s most exclusive feature is its unique BMW Aurora Diamond Green metallic paint finish. As the most extravagant model of the series, the design highlights numerous accents in luxurious gold bronze, such as the window surrounds, the M gills, lettering on the M8 logo, and the unmistakable double kidney grille. The iconic BMW laser lights glow in piercing yellow, complementing the golden bronze grille. This car rides on M light-alloy wheels featuring gold bronze assents and y-spoke design. The First Edition package is also installed. Venturing inside, you are greeted by a White/Tarfuto full Merino interior that’s fitted with a host of optional packages including the Comfort Seating Package, Driving Assistance Package and Drivers Assistance Pro Package. The M sport seats are heated at the front and rear, with heated front armrests, and rear sunshades installed as well. The comprehensive entertainment suite is Apple CarPlay compatible, and a host of active safety features are present, including blind spot warning, lane departure alert, park distance control, and a surround 360-degree camera system.
Engine
This 2020 BMW M8 Gran Coupe Competition First Editions’ powertrain department is certain to give an adrenalin rush as it’s crowned the most powerful engine in BMWs M division history. The 4.4L TwinPower Turbo V8 engine kicks out a staggering 617 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 553 lb-ft of torque at 5,600rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission and M sport differential help channel that power to the road via an all-wheel-drive system that can be switched to rear-drive mode. It can hit 62mph from rest in around 3 seconds, 124mph in 10.6 seconds, and tops out at 190mph. Monster M brakes are there to help reign in the power, and adaptive suspension allows switching between modes for sportiness and comfort.
BMW’s range of M spec cars are nothing short of motoring icons, and each model brings out an experience filled with tail snapping performance and wide smiles – be it on track or tackling your favorite B roads. Present today is this 2023 BMW M8 Competition Convertible, it's the perfect balance of performance and luxury and has just 6,000 miles on the clock making it an almost factory fresh example for your driving pleasure.
