Overview of 2017 Mercedes-Benz g-63-amg For Sale by Owner

Whenever a Mercedes-Benz is mentioned, naturally, the first thing to cross your mind is a sleek & classy sedan. But the boxy and upright off-road-suited G-Class, (or G-Wagen) is a different kettle of fish entirely. The G-Class Mercedes-Benz came to be after the suggestion of the then Shah of Iran in 1972. Initially it was conceived as a military vehicle, and the first military in the world to use the car was the Argentine Army in 1981. Compared to an S-Class, the G-Glass is all hard corners and rugged edges. The G-Class is one of the longest-produced vehicles in Daimler’s history, spanning 41 years with two generations & many revisions. Our subject car is a 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class AMG with some tasteful additions and has clocked just 37849 miles. It remains one of the few SUVs to have been offered with a V12 engine from the factory.

Exterior and Interior

Draped in Designo Manganite Grey Magno with a Classic Red Designo leather interior, it's a color combination to make this G-Wagen stand out from the crowd. It rides on a set of Lexani Competition Series wheels which are wrapped in Nitto NT420V tires. Braking is via AMG painted calipers in red and black. Other factory options include a stainless-steel brush guard, exterior carbon fiber protective inserts, side running boards, and an AMG carbon fiber trim package. On the inside, we have an AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa Leather, blind-spot monitoring, Parktronic parking assist, 360° parking cameras, Active Distance Control-Distronic, a rear-view camera, rear entertainment, & CarPlay smartphone integration. Also included is the stainless-steel package with a stainless-steel spare wheel cover and the Chrome package. An aftermarket Brabus front splitter with LED lights is installed while the side marker lights have been replaced with tinted covers, & all-around carbon fiber trim has been added. The inside of the G-Class features a color-coordinated Red Top stitching that complements the color scheme. Heated front seats will keep occupants comfortable during a blizzard, while a sliding sunroof is included for warmer days. This version of the G-Wagen consists of the seat comfort package and the Designo exclusive package. A new and upgraded sound system has been installed two months back. This upgrade includes a Memphis 1500 sound system, Rockford Fosgate 2 12's & a bass booster controller installed under the steering wheel for easy access.

Engine

The 5.5L V12 bi-turbo engine of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class AMG produces an incredible 621hp @ 738lbs of torque, propelling it to a breathtaking 5.3 seconds 0-60, at 6825lbs. With all-wheel drive, power is distributed via a 7-speed transmission. The G65 AMG is only the third passenger SUV to have a V12 engine installed, with the incredible Lamborghini LM002 being the first one.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class started life as a military off-roader and was developed into a civilian vehicle after a bit of prodding by the Shah of Iran. The first civilian variants entered the market in 1979 and, in true Mercedes-Benz fashion, started getting luxurious. By 1981, air conditioning and automatic transmissions were offered. AMG also got their hands on the G-Class and endowed it with more power, poise, and capability, as is their style. The G-Class nameplate continues to this day, and we've got a 2021 Mercedes-AMG G63 with just 8,800 miles on the clock. Looking for an off-roader with over 500 horsepower, luxury to rival an S-Class, and genuine off-road capability? Step this way.
