Whenever a Mercedes-Benz is mentioned, naturally, the first thing to cross your mind is a sleek & classy sedan. But the boxy and upright off-road-suited G-Class, (or G-Wagen) is a different kettle of fish entirely. The G-Class Mercedes-Benz came to be after the suggestion of the then Shah of Iran in 1972. Initially it was conceived as a military vehicle, and the first military in the world to use the car was the Argentine Army in 1981. Compared to an S-Class, the G-Glass is all hard corners and rugged edges. The G-Class is one of the longest-produced vehicles in Daimler’s history, spanning 41 years with two generations & many revisions.
