Nicknamed the “Jewell,” this incredible 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Sedanette is far more than just a cruiser. It’s a fully customized, professionally built showpiece, blending timeless American fastback styling with modern engineering and bespoke craftsmanship. Or, in other words, the perfect restomod. From its subtly aggressive 2-inch chopped roofline to the reportedly hand-finished Dupont Meadow Green paintwork, nearly every surface has been touched in this elegant transformation. Under the hood lies a balanced and blueprinted 427ci V8, while the body retains a smooth, understated presence thanks to carefully frenched and shaved elements.
Exterior and Interior
Pour one out for the designer of this masterpiece. This 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Sedanette features a 2-inch chop shaved door hadles, and slanted B-pillars. Move to the front and you'll see the Frenched headlights, and a smoothed and peaked hood, while the body lines are clean and uninterrupted. Power comes from a reportedly balanced and blueprinted 427ci V8 built on a 1973-dated 454 block. That's paired with a 396 crankshaft for the ideal stroke ratio. Then, there's the modern addition of Ramjet electronic fuel injection system, while power is sent through a 4L80E 4-speed automatic with a frame-mounted transmission cooler. Under the skin there's even a Fatman stub frame, air ride suspension with polished triangulated 4-bar, and narrowed 9" rear end combine to deliver both comfort and control. With power rack and pinion steering, 2" drop spindles, and 4-wheel disc brakes, “Jewell” handles far better than its vintage form would suggest.
