If you are one of those people who believe a zombie apocalypse is next on the agenda of world crippling pandemics, read no further, this destructive military-grade vehicle is your best chance of survival. However, if facing an army of the undead isn’t at the top of your priorities, let's dive into a quick history lesson about the Humvee. Produced from 1984 to the present day, the Humvee is a high mobility multipurpose wheel vehicle used by the U.S army to replace the original JEEP. While a civilian version dubbed the ‘Hummer H1’ was released thanks to some overenthusiasm for the vehicle by actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, this example is the real deal. Does that mean that this 2003 AM General Humvee is less comfortable? Sure, but if comfort is what you’re after, you’ve completely missed the point. This Herculean example is currently up for sale, and ready to conquer whatever terrain you throw at it.

The exterior of this 2003 Humvee is truly iconic. Take this vehicle anywhere in the world and it's sure to be recognized, especially for its performances in action movies, most of which involve driving straight through brick walls. This specific example wears a green and brown camouflaged exterior paint job in resemblance to its capability to go into war at any given time. The seller reports that the Humvee is also equipped with a tow kit, in case your tow truck needs to be towed. This Humvee also has a fiberglass hood, a soft top, and new Boss headlights up front. As admitted before, the Humvee doesn’t really have much in terms of comfort when it comes to the exterior. Passengers are exposed to a mostly green metal interior with exposed nuts and bolts, and will sit on seats that are slightly more comfortable than a concrete bench, but isn’t that the charm of being inside a Humvee? Not all hope is lost, this 2003 General Humvee has been with a Kicker sound system connected to a subwoofer. It also happens to be Bluetooth-compatible.

Under the hood of this 2003 General Humvee is a reportedly new 6.6L V8 engine with just 2,300 miles on it. Specifics on power and torque haven’t been confirmed, but the vehicle is driven via an automatic transmission.

The OG Hummer, the AM General Humvee is the military variant on which the entire Hummer brand was created around, at the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Having encountered these vehicles in movies, it’s no surprise that The Terminator fell in love with them. Of course, at that time, the only way a civilian could expose themselves to a Humvee in the capacity of driving it was to likely join the military. Now, you can find plenty of old, ex-service Humvees entering civilian life after they retire from active duty. This 1987 AM General Humvee M998 is one such candidate, and it’s got just 37,300 miles to its name. But that’s not important, what matters is how it’s been tastefully customized. You’ve got a Tropical Blue repaint, a custom navy and white Sunbrella top, a diesel V8 under the hood, and so much more to appreciate. Hard to imagine, isn’t it, that this was once a military troop transport!

Originally developed for military operations, the Humvee M998 stands as a symbol of unmatched toughness and utilitarian engineering. This 2018 example, offered from Anaheim, California, represents a modern-production variant that remains completely stock and virtually unused, showing just 50 miles. Combining authentic military-grade construction with near-new condition, it presents a rare opportunity to own an exceptionally preserved Humvee — a machine built for endurance, now ready for civilian life.

The original Humvee was a no-nonsense solution to replacing the military’s fleet of ageing Willys Jeeps. It was designed from the outset to provide reliable, capable, and uncompromising transport in some of the world’s harshest conditions. While vehicles that come straight from the battlefield may require some TLC, our featured 1993 AM General Humvee M998 offers a civilized take on matters, while retaining that charm of appearing like an active service vehicle. It features a relatively low reported mileage, with 22,117 miles on the odometer.

The 1984 AM General M936 is a purpose-built military recovery vehicle designed to operate in the harshest environments and recover the heaviest equipment. Part of the M939-series 5-ton platform, the M936 served as a frontline wrecker for the U.S. military, combining extreme durability with serious recovery capability. This example retains its authentic military character while benefiting from desirable usability features, including both canvas and hard tops, aftermarket wheels, and additional hardtop windows, making it a standout heavy-duty military vehicle suitable for collectors, display, or functional use.

The first Hummer, the H1 was a gargantuan beast released in 1992. It was the result of AM General’s desire to produce a civilian variant of their tough military Humvee, spurred on in no small part by a request from Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Terminator had encountered Humvees during his silver screen adventures and thought they would be a fine SUV for those who dared to think different. One does not simply refuse a request from The Terminator, and AM General saw the potential new market it could offer too. These days, finding an H1 isn’t hard, but it’s not a walk in the park either. Thankfully, we have this 96,579-mile 1995 AM General Hummer H1 for sale from Boston. The vehicle has a 350ci V8, an automatic gearbox, aftermarket wheels and all those cool things that the H1 is famous for.

Am General is perhaps best known for giving us the Humvee, that American stalwart of the silver screen, as well as the news whenever our forces are seen abroad. Humvees have, and continue to revolutionize mobility within all branches of the military. They are immensely adaptable, utterly versatile, and can be turned into just about anything. But AM General also makes heavier-duty things. Things like this 1992 AM General M353A, which is basically a two and a half ton truck. Now up for sale from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, this veteran could be yours if you desire. As for what you decide to do with it, well, that’s up to you. After all, what can’t you do with a massive six-wheeled, six-wheel-drive truck?
