While Bentley had been spending the entirety of their time building uber luxury cars for the super-rich, the British carmaker's new management, Volkswagen AG, decided that it was time to make a Bentley for the people. The inspiration behind the Continental was to create a relatively affordable car that would appeal to a younger customer segment whilst still upholding the prestigious brand name. Bentley finally released the Continental in 2003 as a sporty Grand Tourer. It was the first Bentley to be manufactured using mass production manufacturing techniques, making it more affordable. In 2009, Bentley announced the limited edition Continental Supersports, a more capable version of the base model. This car is a 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports with 30,922 miles, and it's available for purchase in the Sunshine State, Florida. When new, it wore a window sticker price of $277,900.
The Continental Supersports received a few exterior changes over the base model. Larger air vents upfront for improved air intake and a more aggressive diffuser in the rear. The Supersports has a 0-60 time of just 3.7 seconds thanks to the revised ZF 6HP26A Tiptronic automatic with a "Quickshift" system that Bentley claims reduces shift times by up to 50%.
