The most popular modern open-topped Porsche for those who want to check out the brand’s sporting credentials, the Boxster was conceived in the early 2000s. Porsche had entry-level models from time to time, designed to attract younger buyers who couldn’t afford a 911 just yet. This strategy of getting them into the family was genius; it afforded such people a taste of the Porsche experience, basically ensuring that they’d graduate into a 911, or in later years, a Panamera, Macan, Cayenne, etc when they were ready for an upgrade. Today’s 2012 Porsche Boxster is a fine example for anyone who wants an older Boxster. It’s a lovely second-generation example from San Antonio, with just 37,250 miles on the clock. Plus, it has a sports exhaust, sport bucket seats, 19-inch wheels and more. Two keys are included with the sale of this car.
Exterior and Interior
This 2012 Porsche Boxster comes to you in clean white, capping things off with a black power-operated convertible top. Its 19-inch wheels come in contrasting black, with red brake calipers for a splash of color. The profile of the car is unmistakably Porsche, while the black Porsche decals and colored Porsche crests further drive the point home. The two-seat interior of this 2012 Porsche Boxster comes with sport bucket seats, climate control, and a full infotainment system. It’s got a red-faced gauge cluster within a three dial binnacle, and is a wonderful place to spend hours and hours in. There’s surprisingly decent space for a compact two-seater, while features such as red door pulls add some sportiness here and there.
Engine
This 2012 Porsche Boxster packs a 3.4-liter flat six directly behind the passenger cabin. The naturally aspirated unit makes a reported 306 horsepower and is paired with a rather nice 6-speed manual transmission. The car is rear-wheel drive, and can achieve 0-60 in just 5 seconds. The top speed is just shy of 170mph, making this a pretty capable sports car. Power steering and power ventilated disc brakes are standard fitment for this spunky sports car that you’ll really enjoy taking down your favorite road.
The 986-generation Boxster is where Porsche reminded the world that a great sports car does not need to be enormous, overpowered, or complicated to be wildly entertaining. This 2003 Porsche Boxster S has just 17,647 miles and brings the proper formula: a naturally aspirated flat-six mounted just behind the cabin, rear-wheel drive, a power-operated soft top, and that unmistakable Porsche balance. Finished in the timeless combination of Arctic Silver Metallic over Metropol Blue leather, it is a beautifully specified roadster with the right options and the kind of mileage that makes it especially exciting.
Porsche introduced the Boxster S "50 Jahre 550 Spyder" in 2004 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legendary 550 Spyder, one of the most influential sports cars in the brand's history. Limited to just 1,953 examples worldwide—a nod to the year the original 550 Spyder debuted—this special edition featured exclusive styling cues, premium materials, and enhanced performance that set it apart from the standard Boxster S. This particular example, numbered 1,281 of 1,953 produced, has traveled approximately 46,314 miles and is finished in the signature GT Silver Metallic over Dark Grey Natural Leather.
