Not many need any introduction to the Ford Mustang and its legendary reputation as one of the most iconic American muscle cars of all time, but the story behind their relationship with Shelby American ss one worth hearing. Initially approached by Ford to improve the performance of their GT40 at Le Mans, Shelby American by legendary Carroll Shelby soon became a close associate of the Ford brand, and work in unison with the company to produce track focused variants of some of their most celebrated models, most notably, the Mustang. Over the years, Shelby have been adding their own twist to the Mustang, but the GT500 name was last seen in 2014, until it resurfaced once more for the 2020 model year. Featured here is a special edition 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Golden Ticket Track Pack and it’s up for sale in West Virginia with just 1,300 miles on the odometer.
Now, being one of the most popular Ford’s in existence, you can count on Shelby to make a fair few Mustangs with various trim levels, but one stands out as a pure track inspired edition, and includes a custom wide body, rear wing and 20inch wheels made entirely of carbon fiber, known as the Golden Ticket. This is one of just 1,250 of 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Golden Ticket Track Pack editions in existence, and sits beautifully in a Rapid Red Metallic Tinted CC exterior paint that is protected by a professionally installed 5 year ceramic coating, and includes a black painted roof, as well as a set of 315/30R20 tires. The interior is as equally racy, with an exposed carbon fiber instrument panel, a black leather Recaro interior with contrasting grey accents and Recaro leather trimmed seats. Factory options include a wheel locking kit, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 12 speakers, blind spot with cross traffic monitor as well as a voice-activated touch screen and a navigation system.
Under the hood of this super rare 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Golden Ticket Track Pack sits a 5.2L supercharged V8 that can rev up to 7500 rpm, producing around 760hp and 625lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a 7-speed Tremec Dual Clutch automatic transmission.

The first generation Ford Mustang was a smooth cruiser when it had an in-line six-cylinder engine under the hood. Frugal yet fun motoring was possible in this pioneering pony car. Yet, when equipped with the larger V8 engines, the Mustang turned into a true thoroughbred of the racetrack or drag strip. Cars such as this 1967 Ford Mustang GTA offered thrilling acceleration and a stirring V8 soundtrack, paired with the relative ease of an automatic transmission. The engine’s massive power and torque figures meant that even with the slushbox, performance was impressive. This particular car has covered 51,000 miles, comes with the GTA Package and is up for sale in Bownstown Township, Michigan. You’d better act fast to grab it.
Ford’s Mustang has been around for over sixty years and is now in its seventh generation. It’s one of those relatively rare nameplates that’s been around since the time of your parents, and your grandparents as well, if you’re a Millenial or Gen Z’er. Few automotive nameplates can claim such fame, or celebrate anniversaries in spades. Take this fourth-generation 2004 Ford Mustang GT Deluxe Convertible 40th Anniversary as a prime example. Having traveled a smidge over 28,000 miles and currently chilling out in Maryland, this drop-top pony could be your weekend ride, as well as a significant nest egg, given that it’ll be a classic very soon. The car reportedly comes with all maintenance up to date, for peace of mind.
