The image of a Chevy’ 55 two-door is probably the first that pops into anyone’s head when thinking about Diner-obsessed old-school Americana. A shape that defined an era, the old-school Chevrolet’s were more than just transport; they were cars that appealed to young and old and provided many a gateway into the hot-rodding scene. In 2021, a new era dawns. But those who continue to bump-up the power figures of these icons that are approaching seventy-years in age show no let-up in their creations. As such, we’re happy to present one of these two-door creations to you today. Located in Delaware, this wildly modded 1955 Chevrolet 2-Door features a host of power-centric modifications.
Exterior and Interior
The coupe body shape of the 1955 2-Door isn’t the only unique aspect of this old-school Chevy. The exterior paintwork is in silver and blue and features custom flames on the sides and hood. It features new windshield wipers, as well as shaved door handles and side exhaust outlets. Inside, occupants are treated to a black custom leather interior with contrast stitching. A Pro 55 motif features on the headliner, while a Hurst shifter is also present in the cabin. Also included is an Auto Meter tachometer with shift light, a digital dash, and electric power windows.
Engine
The highlight of this particular package, the 496ci V8 engine has been substantially fettled with. The engine is prepped for Nitrous should that route be taken. The combination has been dyno tested for 650 hp to the wheels with 593 lb-ft of torque. This is thanks to the four-barrel carburetor, which is an 850 QS carb. Additionally, all wiring work has been redone and attended to maximize this classic hot rod’s reliability. The Chevy 2-Door features all four disc brakes, which have been recently done, along with a built-up rear end and new rear tires.
