The Ford Bronco was born to be a success for two reasons. It was catering to a steadily growing market that needed a sturdy off-roader with a bit of power and everyday usability and on the other hand it was the brainchild of Donald N Frey, the guy responsible for the iconic Mustang. With its 56-year production run, the Bronco has gone on to be America's off-road sweetheart and a major collector item with the first generations arguably being the most desired generation. Why not grab your own slice of American automotive history and spruce up your driveway with this 1966 Ford Bronco 302 we have today. Located in Colorado, this legendary vehicle is special in its own right and also sports a few surprises to make it stand out further.

The Bronco’s boxy figure and iconic design blend in with any exterior color. This 1966 Ford Bronco 302 sports a lovely mix of light blue and white which not only makes it look good but really plays to its design features quite well. The truck has reportedly been repainted by the previous owner. Whilst most of the surprises in this vehicle lay under the hood you also would be happy to know that the body of this Bronco is uncut. It rides high off the ground thanks to a set of 33-inch tires and 15-inch American Racing wheels adding onto its vintage persona. There is also a full-size spare wheel at the rear. The interior sports the same color scheme as the exterior and is mostly original with a few modifications done to make drives enjoyable. It was reportedly redone by the previous owner and features the original seats with a family roll cage and back seat. You get 4 shoulder belts for added safety. The modifications come in the form of a vintage-look Bluetooth stereo system which does not take away from this vehicle's period-correct looks but provides a way to listen to some good tunes the right way. The Vintage A/C system also blends in well with the interior of the vehicle and provides a pleasant driving experience on a hot day summer day drive. The Ford Bronco branded floor mats complete the look and complement the original seats of the vehicle as well.

Finding that mix of reliability and power that could scare a passenger is a tough thing. The Bronco was built on being reliable and have that go anywhere attitude, but this 1966 Ford Bronco takes a slight twist. Gone is it’s the original six-cylinder engine as stated by the owner and in its place is a 302ci crate engine from Blueprint engines, with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and exhaling through a recently-installed dual exhaust system that allows you to hear the engine howl. A Jeep NV4500 5-speed manual transmission and transfer case send the power where you desire, and locking hubs are on hand too. The seller reports that the engine has enough power to “easily light up the tires”. Power disc brakes ensure that stopping power is adequately upgraded, and power steering means your arms won’t ache after a day in the rough. A 2-inch lift caps it all off.

This 1969 Ford Bronco Restomod combines the iconic styling of the first-generation Bronco with modern performance and thoughtful upgrades that improve comfort and usability. Finished in white with a black interior and a contrasting black removable hardtop, the truck maintains the classic early Bronco aesthetic while benefiting from a fully modern drivetrain. Power comes from a 5.0L Gen 3 Coyote V8 producing approximately 480 horsepower, paired with a 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission and a capable 4x4 drivetrain. With its blend of vintage design and contemporary mechanicals, this Bronco delivers significantly improved performance and drivability compared to the original while retaining the character that made these early SUVs so desirable.

Ford’s famous Bronco came in 1966, and represented another Greatest Hit for the Blue Oval. Following hot on the heels of the Mustang, the Bronco redefined off-roaders, turning them into what we know as Sport Utility Vehicles today. That is to say, they still had off-road abilities, but weren’t as bone-jarring or devoid of fancy features as traditionally built. Now, the Bronco is in its sixth generation and has grown into a five-door family SUV as well as the typical three-door style that it carried for the first five generations. Today’s 1972 Ford Bronco Restomod is a fine first-generation example, three-door body and all, but it’s a bit different from a stock first-gen Bronco. You see, there’s a modern Coyote V8 under the hood, some nice creature comforts and upgrades here and there. All that could be yours, with just 1,100 miles on the odometer after all the extensive work done. The vehicle is currently resting in Vegas if you’re interested in making it yours.

Ford’s fine Bronco is widely considered to be one of the first proper American sport utility vehicles, offering a more comfortable and family-friendly experience with four-wheel drive capabilities. Introduced in 1966, the first generation ran until 1978 and sold over 200,000 units in that time. Now, a first-generation Bronco is a nice catch as a classic SUV to own and drive, and if you select an example like this 1971 Ford Bronco, you’ll be getting a machine that can still handle some pretty decent off-road adventures. With 22,168 miles on the clock, it’s got an aftermarket lift kit, aftermarket wheels and resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

What have we got here? Is it KITT, then? Well, not quite. It’s the exact model of Shelby Mustang used for the 2008 reboot of Knight Rider – the GT500KR. Contrary to belief, KR actually means King of the Road. It’s a term that pays homage to the original 1968 GT500KR, a fearsome, Cobra Jet toting machine. Today’s 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR features a supercharged Modular V8 under the hood to really get your pulse racing. In case that isn’t enough, this 1,400-mile machine from Iowa also has the Shaker 1000 audio system, Shelby GT500KR forged wheels and even a carbon fiber rear spoiler and front splitter. You’d better not waste any time, then. Only 1,712 units were made, by the way.

From the vintage first-generation F-Series of 1948 to today’s fourteenth generation, Ford’s famous family of pickup trucks is a success story for books, case studies and more. It’s redefined the bar for a pickup truck countless times, and even caught the attention of Carroll Shelby. Even though the great man is no more, there are Shelby F-150s around, like this current-generation 2023 Ford F-150 Shelby from Yucalpa, California. With just 12,500 miles on the clock and a V8 under the hood, this could be the ideal half-ton truck for someone with a family who needs the versatility of a pickup.
