Overview of 1966 Plymouth Fury For Sale by Owner

Immortalized in print and on screen, the Plymouth Fury was famous for its role as killer possessed car Christine in Steven King’s thriller novel, as well as the movie of the same name. This was in fact a 1958 two-door model, which is far removed from today’s 1966 Plymouth Fury, so don’t worry, this car isn’t likely to ambush you. In fact, it offers you a superb period driving experience, allowing you to experience a full-size four-door Plymouth and see what this iconic American brand could provide. Today’s example has under 18,000 miles on it and hails from Chandler, Arizona. Give us a call if you’re interested.

Exterior and Interior

This 1966 Plymouth Fury comes in light blue and showcases the vertically stacked headlamp design that came for the fourth generation of the Fury. It’s an interesting face, with a slimline chrome grille spanning the tall headlamp clusters, bisected by a Fury III badge at the front. The side profile shows off the length of the car, with its four-door design and white-striped tires on full-size chromed hubcaps. At the rear, we’ve got four red taillamps and a design that mirrors the front grille. Overall, it’s a bit different to your typical Ford or Chevy full-size Sixties sedan, which is why we think you’ll really enjoy owning and driving this car. The blue interior of this 1966 Plymouth Fury sports front and rear bench seats, a tilt steering wheel, and even air conditioning to keep you comfortable regardless of the weather. It’s also got a dished steering wheel, a push-button radio and lap belts for occupant safety. Popping the trunk reveals a suitably large load space as well as the spare tire and some literature pertaining to the car.

Engine

This 1966 Plymouth Fury packs a 383ci Commando V8 under the hood. Hailing from the Chrysler B engine family, it was reportedly rated at around 330 horsepower at the time. Power goes to the rear wheels through a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox. The car also has power steering and power brakes for a suitably easy driving experience. So why not sit back, relax, and take a long trip across the country?
