Overview of 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe SS For Sale by Owner

When it comes to iconic American automobiles, there are few as legendary as the very first-generation Chevrolet Camaro. The Camaro was GM’s answer to the Ford Mustang — and having learned from their competitors over at the Blue Oval, the recipe was an instant success. On offer is an original SS, or in Chevy-speak, a Camaro with the “Super Sport” package. The Camaro SS was a performance package that included bigger engine options and changes under the skin to aid handling. The car offered for sale includes a host of upgrades, including a 406ci small block V8 under the hood. It’s a blend of original with a handful of tasteful modifications, making it all the more desirable to the discerning enthusiast.

Exterior and Interior

Finished in a deep red shade, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro sits on a set of 17-inch Bullitt chrome rims, with 225/50/R17 tires on the front axle and 275/50/R17 sized tires on the rear. The staggered-width set-up is perfect for an old-school rear-wheel drive muscle car, and the owner reports that the Falken tires on the vehicle are in good condition. Inside the Chevrolet Camaro, you’re greeted by a four-spoke wheel with the SS badge at its center. Behind it is the traditional two-meter binnacle housing a speedometer and tachometer. Also included are the factory gauges housed in the center console, taking care of fuel, water temperature, oil temperature, battery charging status, and an analog clock. The leather seats are from a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and the rest of the interior is upholstered in matching black, including the headliner and a center armrest for the front passengers. Last but not least, a Vintage Air air-conditioning system is installed for a touch of modern convenience.

Engine

What lies under the hood is a small-block 406ci V8 engine. The engine itself has its own choice of modifications, including aluminum heads, a cam, and a custom exhaust with long tube ceramic-coated headers. A Tremec five-speed gearbox sends Power to a 373 Positraction rear end. The brakes are reported to be original.
